Neither my mom or I really wanted to do much cooking for thanksgiving so we ordered all the savory stuff from a local restaurant (and are going to make pies), and their standard order was ‘all the fixings for 4-6’ so we decided that would be good, have some leftovers, etc etc

"I think the overseas setting of the first would be really fresh and allow me to show a different side of myself," he said. "And of course, [director], on the second, has done so much great work and l'd love to work with her." He paused. "But, I was wondering - these roles all seem so similar to what I've been doing. Before, we said - anyway, I was wondering if there was any possibility of doing something a little different. A villain, maybe, or an antihero." No one around the table wanted to make eye contact. "Yunho-ssi," [agent] finally said. "We've talked about this. I know you want to do other kinds of work, but right now the market really wants to see you in romances. That's the image you've built, and that's the image that our promotional partners are really looking for. We need to be able to take advantage of that while we can. It won't last forever, and it would be a shame to waste." The promotional partners. Of course. Yunho knew that was where the bulk of his income came from, and obviously that would matter to his agency. He couldn't even say they were wrong. He was successful now, but he knew that never lasted. Sooner or later, someone else would be the hot young thing, and then he'd be grateful to be offered any choices in roles at all. "Then the first one would be my preference, but any of these would be great," he said, appropriately chastened. He'd let the rest of the team pick, driven by the mundane business of schedule and contract negotiation.

since we're talking about pies- one of my favorite internet traditions is r/costco every year, without fail, featuring multiple top-of-page posts of people completely agog at the scale of the costco pumpkin pie display. it must feel like walking onto a sherman tank factory floor in 1944
