I don’t think any speech will ever put a finer point on the end of American leadership in the world wrought by the Trump administration. Our closest ally has already written us off as a lost cause in just the first year. This will take decades to repair if ever.
For decades, countries like Canada prospered under what we called the ‘rules-based international order.’
That order is not coming back, but from the fracture, we can build something better, stronger, and more just.

Why are there like maybe 10 members of Congress capable of this kind of cutting the bullshit? We need many more people of the caliber of AOC as our leaders.

🚨HOLY CRAP. An ICE whistleblower just revealed a secret memo authorizing ICE officers to break into homes without a judicial warrant, which DHS's own legal training materials say is unconstitutional!

This is a thoughtful document but it’s also incredibly naive philosophically. It’s anthropomorphizes to absurd degrees the behavior of Claude to represent it as something approaching consciousness. LLMs are categorically incapable of this. Linguistic pattern recognition is not self awareness.

Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.

The de-growther I was responding to blocked me over pointing out that he wants to build a massive authoritarian apparatus that will also spur a right wing populist backlash. This is the stupidest political idea of my lifetime to gain real traction.
If you think you can reshape markets at massive scale without harming the economic interests of average people while also creating a hellish authoritarian state apparatus you are delusional. This is pretty much planned economy communism in another wrapper and it would be absolutely disastrous.
