Once clever, now a simple man. Not as funny as I think I am. Talking pro wrestling, politics, comics and other amusements. Bad at video games. OK at singing. Stroke survivor. Trying to be kind.
Album #46 of "1001" Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" is the Electric Light Orchestra's seventh album, "Out of the Blue"

If you enjoy ELO's style of rock and roll, this is one of their classics. If you don't, you'll find this as overdone overly produced wankery.

Fortunately, I enjoy ELO (1/?)

Album #45 of "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You DIe" is Tom Waits' 1975 "live" album, "Nighthawks at the Diner"

You really feel like you're in a smoky jazz club in the mid 70s listening to Tom and his band groove. The music's excellent and the asides between songs are a real treat. (1/2)

Doctors say that vaccines protect children from dangerous diseases. A nepo baby who barbecues dogs and snorts cocaine off toilet seats says that vaccines make children vulnerable to 5G radiation. For busy parents, it can be hard to know who to trust.

Album #44 of "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" is Otis Redding's "Otis Blue/Otis Sings Soul"

There's a fkn reason he's called The King of Soul. It ain't hyperbole.

Album #43 on "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" is the Beastie Boys' "Ill Communication"

I've never really connected with the Beasties. This is probably the first time I've listened to one of their albums all the way through since the early 90s.

I liked the jazzier tunes, tho.

Album #42 of "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" is Tears for Fears' "Songs from the Big Chair.

Of course I knew the hit singles. The rest of the album was a revelation. The orchestration was fantastic, and Curt & Roland's vocals are fantastic.

Favorite song is still "Head Over Heels"

Album #40 of "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" is Sam Cooke's "One Night Stand:! Live at the Harlem Square Club"

This album is a lot grittier than most of the Sam Cooke I've heard. It's less polished, and that's not a bad thing.

This Super Bowl is queer as a hell, and I love that for them.

Album #39 of "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" is Ice Cube's solo debut, "AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted"

it's obvious that Cube wrote a number of these songs for Eazy-E. It's not a proper example of Cube's voice as a rapper, unlike his later albums.

Best song: Who's the Mack?

Album #38 of "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" is Britney Spears' debut album, "...Baby One More Time"

Most of it is harmless pop. the cover of "The Beat Goes On" is fucking awful, though.

Best song: "(You Drive Me) Crazy"

Album #37 of "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" Is The Clash's first self-titled album.

I mostly just know The Clash from their big singles. The rest of their work has been a blind spot for me. It's simple and effective punk rock.

Favorite song: What's My Name

Album #36 of "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" is David Bowie's final album, "Blackstar."

Bowie recorded this album knowing his time was short, and created a masterpiece to say goodbye to the world.

Favorite song: Lazarus

Album #35 on "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" is Can's "Future Days"

I liked this better than the previous Can album. More ambient, less noise.

Album #34 of "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" is "Ocean Rain" by Echo & the Bunnyment

Outside of their cover of "People Are Strange" and "The Killing Moon", I've remained ignorant of the band. I wouldn't have gotten it when I was younger, but I dig it now.

Favorite song: Seven Seas

Album #33 of "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" is Adele's "25"

It's ok. 25 is an age where you think you know everything, but it turns out you don't know anything.

Album #32 in "1001 Albums You Must Here Before You Die" is Big Star's Third (later known as Third/Sister Lovers)

This album is stark in comparison to their previous work. It's barely a Big Star album. It's an Alex Chilton album that was labelled as Big Star without his permission or input. (1/?)

Album #32 of "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" is "Triangle" by The Beau Brummels.

I think this album causes disassociation because I forget most everything about a song right after I hear it on this album.
