Jesse Singal is a liar and a fraud of a journalist and I will prove it as an unassailable fact in this thread.

I'll also talk about why I don't think BlueSky moderation will do anything about him afterwards so stick around or maybe just skip to that if you don't want to read the boring details.

Brits please spread this. And the standard warning applies: Trans people, avoid talking to cis journalists.

And these are just the ones who managed to weather the storms and retain some level of public visibility. The sheer number of people who argued against gay rights who have felt it necessary to apologize since, arguing that they were ignorant or that they were caught up in the views of the time…

Stallone, Andrew Dice Clay, Geraldo, Phil Donahue and many others also either said homophobic things or hosted guests promoting anti-gay views. All have since apologized.

Hulk Hogan, notoriously right wing, regularly used anti-gay rhetoric in the 80s and onwards. Later forced to admit in public: “I was wrong”, “It was ignorant.”, “I’m trying to do better.”

Eddie Murphy’s early stand up material was pretty much as homophobic as you can get. His statement in 1990: “
“I deeply regret any pain I’ve caused gay people… I’m not anti-gay. I was young, trying to be funny, and I was wrong.”

Arsenio Hall allowed repeat homophobic jokes and AIDS scare humour on The Arsenio Hall Show. He had on guests who spread misinformation about AIDS, and he personally made jokes that played on fear of gay men. By the 2010s he felt a need to apologize for all of it.

Everything That Howard Stern Has Had To Apologize For - Nicki Swift
Shock jock Howard Stern rose to fame as the guy who'd say anything on the radio, but he later regretted some of his comments. He's even apologized for a few.

Curious how Sophia, (remember a teenager who wasn't on trial), being arrested by EIGHT officers didn't make front page news. She didn't get a supportive statement from the PM or the Free Speech Union for some reason
Here's a thread from Twitter shared with Sophia's permission in which she finally is able to talk about Graham using the police as HIS personal goon squad and getting Sophia arrested at home by EIGHT armed police officers, somewhat putting the standard Heathrow armed cops in perspective.

Only 16% of Trump voters support Ukraine making territorial concessions to Russia and 72% are in favor of selling Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, according to a new poll by The Vandenberg Coalition.

72% of Trump voters also believe the US should help Ukraine and hold Russia accountable.

1/2 Email sent to Scottish Power:

I'm a trans woman customer of yours for electricity.

I'm disgusted by the award from the Herald newspaper, sponsored by yourselves, of Campaigners of the Year to For Women Scotland. FWS are not a womens rights group as they like to claim but a single-issue

Time to boycott the Herald. Tell them why.

Also, if Scottish Power is your supplier, tell them you'll switch if they don't axe support for an award to an oligarch-funded, trans hostile/fascist pressure group.

Enough of this rewarding lobbies that seek to revoke human rights and subvert democracy.

It shows clear intent that they believe anti-trans campaigning should be rewarded and celebrated.

We will not stand for this. As such, we will not work with The Herald or Scottish Power. Any requests for their attendance at Stirling Pride events will be refused including participation in marches.

For Women Scotland, have been at the core of the anti-trans lobby for a number of years and their actions are causing enormous harm to trans and non-binary people across the UK.

The decision by The Herald to present them with this award is not a neutral decision.

These awards were sponsored by ScottishPower, a company who regularly champions diversity.

How about a London Pride march on Remembrance Sunday? Thousands of us marching past the Cenotaph at 11am blasting out, God help us, Pink Pony Club, for the six millionth time this year?

Insensitive? Grotesque? But when you piss on our graves, it's brave, commendable, and deserves a shiny trophy.

Every Transgender Day of Remembrance, press and politicians alike come together to pour as much salt as they can into an open wound.

Sometimes those politicians' parties have the audacity to slap something on their socials to mark TDoR, as if doing so buys the party the right to its next attack.

We also need to hear from those Herald contributors who have previously expressed their support for trans and non-binary people and the LGBTQIA+ community.

Those who remain silent now will be regarded as complicit. The only thing required for evil to thrive is for "the good" to do nothing.

Exactly this.

The Herald chose to honour a transphobic hate group on the Transgender Day of Remembrance.

We now know exactly what the Herald thinks of trans and non-binary people and the LGBTQIA+ community.

The Herald knew what it was doing. Now their sponsors must say where they stand.
