I successfully passed a hate crime ordinance!!!!!!! A year of researching, drafting up the ordinance, educating our council, lobbying, organizing, and finding speakers is done! The work continues but a win for our City!

A lot of my current experience would not have been possible without college. Going to college quite literally made me a college professor at 24/25. So yeah. I learned a lot. Became a lot. Achieved a lot.

I think college is a culmination of education, coming of age, relationship building, and networking.

The best college experiences balance it all in my opinion. But also, it’s what you make it, so for some people probably.

He was largely still coming into himself, his confidence, figuring out who he is, what he wants.

I still have some figuring out to do, but I’m much more solidified about the general idea of who I am and what I want. Also… I party more? Socialize more? Network more? Idk lol

Because of the geography the black population was rather small. Sometimes a little clicky too. Which 🤷🏾‍♂️ but it would’ve been nice to have more enriching relationships with black folks my age on campus.

Like a week or two before everybody moved in, I almost drowned at cross country camp. Trapped under a flipped canoe.

Same year, couple of months later, I got hit by a car mid practice as me and some teammates were running back to campus.

You get to reinvent yourself now. Especially if you’re in a new environment. Start over. Become new.

Also ask for help more. Your parents will send you a lil money for groceries boy. Don’t worry about they pockets so much and just ask.

I should have partied more… and made out with more people. But classes were good. Friends were great. Being an athlete improved my discipline I think. I had well-rounded experience.

Since like… middle school I knew I wanted to do something artsy. High school locked in animation. I added in the writing after I got there at the behest of the department head and with the encouragement of my mother.
