When you rightly agree that music is a skill, it is 100% okay to be snobby about it. I like music bc it is the distillation of a human’s desire, not bc it’s just a bunch of beats & tunes.
I’ve been trying to find ways to articulate my hatred of AI-generated music that won’t come across as snobbish, but most of what I have to say about it can be boiled down to this:
None of the artists I like in any genre, regardless of era, make music that can be accurately predicted by a computer.

I really do not understand why we can’t be nuanced and admit that some Black people genuinely were rejected for being weird and that “weird” was often equivalent to “white.” 😵💫
