An important reminder if using our waterways: Invasive clam larvae are exceptionally small, just 0.2 mm – they’re basically invisible. They can be carried on boats or other gear, even togs, and accidentally transported to an uncontaminated site.
Check. Clean. Dry.

I'm here to banish the darkness, if only for a moment.

A vaccine for chlamydia in koalas. Developed in Canada by a global team, with help from the family of Steve Irwin.

It reduces mortality, reduces disease severity, provides protection for baby koalas.

Turning the tide on a deadly disease.
First koala chlamydia vaccine approved
The disease has been plaguing the endangered marsupials since the 1990s.

have been pretty good about going to a meditation or relaxation class at least a couple times a month, and every time I get back from one and get on here it seems more obvious that a lot of people aren’t doing anything to make themselves less reactive

Safe But Boring To Lick. Zero flavour, some kinda cool striations and pitted textures, but this is a feast for the eyes not tongue.

At least, geologically. Socially and criminally, you’d likely find it not safe at all.
For today’s Exhibit of the Day, let’s visit the Tarugo, a dazzling elbaite tourmaline. This gem is one of the finest large crystals ever found. It is notable for its exceptional quality and unique cranberry color.

Oh, just get vaccinated (part 5,000)

The upside to having to take the dog for a walk around midnight in sub zero temperatures is that it provided an opportunity to hear the hooves of galloping deer breaking through the thin but hard crust of frozen snow somewhere beyond the reach of both the streetlights & the full moon.

I highly recommend having a cuddle with a furry guy or gal today. If you don't have your own you could consider borrowing one from a friend, or a neighbour you've never spoken to.

I was lying on my side in bed this morning and Ricky was lying on my other side when he moved wrong and fell off. I sort of half-caught him so he was lying next to me all twisted around like "...?" until he realised what happened and tried to right himself. Ended up sitting like a teddy bear

“About Venezuela? How should I respond to that? Well, what can I say? If… If it is possible to act with dictators like this, it means the United States knows what to do next. Thank you”

"What are we supposed to do, arrest him again?" shrugs top cop over serial criminal's latest crimes.
“Well… we can’t just keep filing impeachment articles all the time.”

Yes you can! If the man is committing impeachable offenses on the regular, you’re acquiescing to a standard that raises the bar for impeachable offense to absurd levels.
How are voters meant to understand how serious things are if in lieu of shouting fire AND going into building with hoses, you're simply posting fire safety suggestions on social media?
Not introducing articles of impeachment is a message that Trump hasn't committed impeachable offenses.

Me: "Kindness. It's always been kindness. If I see someone acting kind to others, I want to be friends with them."

I think it's important to pay attention to things like this - people aren't waiting for their elected reps to say something or do something, they're not asking permission, they're not coming up with excuses. They're seeing the news and going out to do something. They're not okay with this.
Happening now: several hundred people are pouring into Chicago's downtown Federal Plaza.

It's 25 degrees outside.

Organizers are leading the crowd in a chant of, "no boots on the ground, no bombs in the air!"

Two protesters hold a large banner reading, "no war for Venezuela oil."
