Hey; my zine is coming together! Lots of interviews & reviews. However, specific shoutout: if anyone would like to write something original let me know! Too much of my own writing in this issue. Will happily look at submissions about your band, other music, art, books, clothes, films, travel. Shout!

LISTEN TO THIS. The chaps from The Giddy Carousel Of Pop (the Smash Hits-based podcast) have done a 40th anniversary special episode on Don't Stand Me Down, featuring actual Dexys members Helen O'Hara and Kevin 'Billy' Adams, Smash Hits legend Chris Heath, and little old me (a mere fan at the time).

Went to see Yasujiro Ozu's "Tokyo Kids" (as it's been translated into French) with live musical accompaniment this afternoon and a very splendid thing it was.

I can thoroughly recommend this. It’s not bloopy at all, but extremely laid back indie/alternative. I love the way it sounds like every instrument is trying to hide behind the other instruments.

Finished listening to the audiobook of this today. Brilliantly funny and compassionate and scathing and poignant. And the swearing is immaculate.

There's a new 'zine in progress about riding below and above the cliffs between Brighton and Newhaven. Words slowly being bashed into some sort of shape and another roll of 120 film shot.

Brilliant band, consistently fantastic. Live shows never disappoint.

Fun night at Hope & Ruin, indie power-pop @fortitudevalley.bsky.social + plus splendid support Two White Cranes & the fantastic but really bloody loud Self Torque (had to go stand at the back that isn't *that* far from the front at the Hope. Fortunately plastic pint glass of ear plugs on the bar)

can't wait to hear this stuff live in Brighton next week, plus @jo-johnson.bsky.social supporting. going to make a change from a couple of months of full on jangly indie-pop gig attendance :-)
