The crown of Empress Eugénie was one of nine invaluable royal ornaments snatched by burglars during the Louvre heist in October, but the thieves dropped it on the sidewalk before making their escape. The Louvre announced it will soon invite restorers to submit proposals for the crown’s repair.

Heads up if you subscribe to Wired, I just went through a whole rigmarole where they auto renewed my subscription for $80 when my receipt and their website says an annual subscription costs $30, and then gave me the runaround to convince me that the subscription is actually $80.

The SpaceX/xAI merger situation is actually pretty important and, I think, very bad. "Data centers in space" is a bit of a pipe dream, but SpaceX now dominates low-Earth orbit in a highly concerning way. Starlink is real and could monopolize a lot of things.Not Good!

walked into one of the big 80s style Actual Hut locations recently. it was converted to delivery-only and the massive restaurant space became storage. the bored register lady explained all this to me while multiple groups of people came in expecting to sit down and eat came in and left mad.
