They are, especially with NHTSA likely being the reason for the update delay in the first place. Apparently the FMVSS item on rearview assists (mirrors and camera) was the issue.

Thanks for the video Corbin! It's irritating especially for people leasing their Ioniq5, since there's a risk of damage that may cost money on return... Might have to wait on installing a hitch until lease end or if the car is bought out

In other news... Board Certified in Internal Medicine!!!!!!
A letter to the poster from the ABIM, delivering good news. Pertinent text as follows:

Dear Dr. Srinivasachar:

Congratulations! On behalf of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), we are pleased to inform you that you have passed the ABIM 2025 Internal Medicine Certification Examination.

Can confirm, am radical.
shematologist.medsky.social
My radical views are that I’d prefer to pay for healthcare for all and food for everyone than have my tax dollars support genocide, ICE, and the bank accounts of the super wealthy.

Shutdown or meltdown?
fuqekgs.medsky.social
The government is autistic. It's having a shutdown. Please give it space

Pediatrics is the lowest paid medical specialty. Our numbers are decreasing despite a constant rate of children in the US. If children are to be a priority, especially their health, something needs to change.

As an e-bike owner (commuter and casual rider), this, but also make more protected bike paths and trails so that we don't run the risk of drivers hitting us due to inattention/inebriation/idiotically speeding

Maybe not a requirement, but certainly a track or elective during training for those residents who want/need procedure training should be the norm. We do not need to repeat what's happening with Peds training and the marked reduction in procedural training in that specialty...

imagine if a family of beavers randomly showed up right now and finished whatever thing you've been putting off
In early 2025, beaver activity in the Brdy Protected Landscape Area, Czech Republic, contributed to the restoration of a wetland ecosystem. A family of beavers constructed a series of dams that coincidentally accomplished environmental goals of the Czech government, which had delayed its proposed project since 2018 for bureaucratic and financial reasons. The beaver-built dams saved the Czech government approximately US$1.2 million,

We are different, not broken.
Misunderstood, not mistaken.
Diverse, not diseased.

Autistic folk deserve to exist and love their fullest lives. Stop trying to fix the unfixable.
drneuro.bsky.social
The insidious “obvious now” factor is that all this dialog of vaccine and Tylenol causing autism is that it’s normalizing and setting the tone of “neurodivergence is an unforgivable sin and we must not let them exist”

We are not a sin.
We deserve to exist.
We deserve love.

Can’t we just have one day where everything isn’t stupid

Interesting. Wondering how this affects peds-adjacent specialties (read #MedPeds), and what it will do for inpatient specialties (especially Heme/Onc, among the last of the subspecialties that hasn't given up their inpatient services)

Big changes are coming to #Pediatrics training.

🏥 Less inpatient time
🧠 New required mental health rotation
🩺 More outpatient & individualized curriculum

How will this reshape hospital medicine?

Interesting... Wondering how it does in comparison to nirsevimab, the current gold standard?
nejm.org
Clesrovimab is a long-acting monoclonal antibody against respiratory syncytial virus fusion protein. In the CLEVER phase 3 trial involving 3614 healthy infants, clesrovimab reduced RSV disease and associated hospitalization. Full trial results: nej.md/48jpBO4

#MedPeds here! This, and make Med-Peds training equivalent to a PHM board certification!
soumya-goblue.medsky.social
Two solutions that would bring back #MedPeds trained #doctors as well as increase #Pediatrics workforce:
1) pay #Pediatricians exactly same as adult medicine doctors for identical work (eg pediatric vs adult hospitalists)
2) provide same respect as IM doctors (which isn’t much, but more than Peds)
shematologist.medsky.social
In case you’re wondering, it’s barely fall & our children’s hospital is already almost always full with kids boarding in the ER.

And the pediatric workforce is stretched thin.

Our system does not have the capacity to care for the influx of vaccine preventable diseases that is coming.
