Grateful to kick off the Virginia School Boards Association’s annual “Take Your Legislator to School Month" with Senator Saddam Salim and Delegate Holly Seibold at Freedom Hill Elementary School. Very impressed by our student guides and the conversations we had with staff!

Across the country, 31 states have requirements that police record interrogations, though many only require recordings in certain cases. Hawaii has become the ninth state to impose this requirement regardless of the crime someone is suspected of.
Hawaii Supreme Court Expands Rights of Defendants, and Once Again Rebukes SCOTUS
The justices ruled that Hawaii’s constitution requires police to record interrogations. And they vowed to protect due process for Hawaii residents—unlike, they said, the Roberts Court.

friendly reminders this morning that being pissed off and disappointed is not an excuse for doomer shit, and that state and national electoral politics, while unfortunately impactful beyond its current worth, is not the only or best way of political mobilization

Yup.
This isn't because they don't want to overturn it. They want to. It's because they know they can't do something so profoundly unpopular yet. Give it some time. This is still on the agenda.

Sen Warner also! He’s always a snake behind the scenes! Reminder that Senator Warner was also one of the first senators to start the hosting of President Biden late and his election last summer! He is behold a big obvious and is an a$$hole! bsky.app/profile/jenn...
Reports are Warner pushed for Dems to cave behind the scenes but won’t say so in public because he’s up for reelection. Ask him if he’ll vote to remove Schumer. If he won’t, he’s shown he’s just a coward who is willing to let others take the fall for him and should be voted out in the primary!

President Biden was constantly criticised about his age, yet this loser is far less competent than President Biden and the press is too scared to report it.

Dems like Warner do need to be primaried. But ultimately this is where I land.

Republicans are still to blame. We don’t have to do what MSM does - there is plenty of evidence we can hammer day in and day out that Republicans don’t care about whether you live or die.

It *is* ultimately on them.
I guess I need someone to explain to me where the crack in the Republican foundation was that told you they would negotiate, because I didn’t see one. They would willfully starve children and bankrupt the airlines. So Dems wanted to save someone out of this, and now they’re to blame?

Hooray?

A reminder - last March, republicans promised to restore $1.1B in funding to DC in exchange for funding the government, and Mike Johnson never took it up in the House.

In the first Trump term GOP Senator John McCain saved the ACA with a "thumbs down" while dying of cancer. These Democrats need to be permanently known as those that are killing the ACA. Trump will be crowing about his win after this because of those spineless Democrats.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

DUDE NEEDS TO BE PRIMARIED
Warner is up for reelection. He was widely seen driving towards surrender behind the scenes, but he's voting no in public because it's unpopular. The real question is whether he supports a senate leadership change. If not, someone who supports senate leadership change should primary him.
But I cannot support a deal that still leaves millions of Americans wondering how they are going to pay for their health care or whether they will be able to afford to get sick.
