not sure a bio thing’s always necessary or even wise but I’m bored so here’s a summary of already shared info. I’m a staff carpenter at large institution; have a BA in philosophy and MS in a healthcare adjacent field but that didn’t work out so I rebuild Jeffersonian roofs and renovate offices now.

People seem to be falsely equating “a calm demeanor” with civility.

A slur said with a smile is still a slur. Dehumanizing language couched within “Hey, friend, agree to disagree…” is still violence. It’s not your tone that dictates civility, it’s your words, actions, and beliefs.

yeah, that was unpleasant. honestly I spent enough time losing at poker in my misspent youth that I’m willing to chalk it up to bad luck barring strong evidence to the contrary, but it was deeply unfortunate at a minimum

I will say that I find it plausible that more of the TPUSA people who showed had also signed up to speak, so that may have given them better odds than the base numbers indicated, but yeah. absurd luck nevertheless
