For #WIPWednesday here's the beginning of the next chapter of my Steddyhands omegaverse fic that updates every Sunday, Complicated Multiplication.

Izzy feels something strange.

A storm was bearing down on them, a dark wall of rain minutes away. Droplets were already falling on the desk as the crew scrambled to lock everything down in preparation for the beating. The plan was to trim the sails and ride the waves, because they looked like reasonable swells, rather than waves of a hurricane. The crew was going to go below deck while Sted, Ed, and Izzy went to the cabin, all intent on just riding it out.

Buttons had volunteered to mind the helm without anyone even asking. "I know the will of the sea better than any other," he'd said, staring off into the distance. No one argued.

Stede and Ed were heading toward the cabin, trusting Izzy to complete the preparations. He struck a formidable figure, all black in the looming darkness, pointing and yelling. Even with the bulge of his belly more than obvious now, he commanded the deck with complete authority.

He was in the middle of telling Wee John and Frenchie to secure some crates by the cannons when he stopped mid-sentence, hand still outstretched. His eyes widened, mouth dropping open, before both hands went to his belly.

Stede grabbed Ed's sleeve, making him stop. "Izzy?" he called.

Izzy looked at him, mouth working soundlessly, before he reached for them.

I was able to get out of the red with my account, thanks to y’all’s help. I’ve done the math and I can get by with $250 to pay off unavoidable incoming bills until I’m paid on the 15th. So truly, if you would like some illustration for even a few dollars, you’d be helping big time. 💕💕🫣🫣
