I hate books so much dude.
Found an additional graphic that gets even more of these quotes together.

I've kept "I hate myself, I hate clover, and I hate bees" pinned above my desk since I first started studying evolutionary biology as an undergraduate. So relatable to get extremely frustrated with your study system.

What can we say genre is 'for' if not to be the lattice on which to grow things we might otherwise not get to experience, right?

I think about this a lot!
For me, being unmoored in setting [what are the 'rules' of this world?] and unmoored in language [is this strange because of fidelity to text, an unrecognized reference, or adventurousness of the author?] can lead to a brilliant flowering of complexity and doubt.

A reminder that when Jo Ann Hardesty worked to push this forward, the police union and some officers leaked a false claim to the media that she’d been involved in a hit and run.
Today was a full-circle moment. 💕

In 2020, Portland voters passed police accountability reform with 82 percent of the vote. That didn’t happen by accident. Community members organized, testified, drafted language, debated structure, and refused to accept a system that wasn’t working. 🧵
