Five years ago, we played Deadlands with Savage Worlds on the channel. SW gives us a simple, elegant, and easy mechanic - roll 4+. Stepped die sizes to reflect proficiency, coupled with the "hero die" that gives PCs the heroic boost needed for the pulp-like feel. 🧵1/3

A first play report of Boundless Space, live and in the wild! I don't have Shawn's gift of gab, but FWIW, my last playtest group got through the same run with a spoofed transponder, fast talk, and hacking the eyes of the 4X inspector.

So I ran a quick one-shot just to see how it handled at the table. The mechanics looked tight and the initial set-up looked plenty juicy, but just like you don't trust that a rebuilt engine will hold together at speed, I had to give it a shakedown. So enter our heroes
