This is what is required to sustain and escalate the fight we’re in.

One day marches are powerful for showing the scale of potential force we have.

But that force is only exercised when we get embedded in long term organizing and take the fight to bosses, landlords, and the state.
BREAKING: Tenants across Minneapolis and Saint Paul have just launched a Twin Cities tenant union, citing the fact that their cities are under siege, and saying they need to band together to protect one another.

There's an urge — and I get where it comes from — to look for signs that parts of the status quo may be truly turning against the current horrors and inflate anything that seems to give evidence of that.

Kill it. It distorts your view of what's happening and makes you more susceptible to propaganda

Seeing a propaganda push emphasizing tiny incidents like the one police chief getting someone they knew out of an ICE stop to give the false impression cops are against ICE.

This is often burying news like SPD and LAPD announcing they won't enforce bans on ICE going masked. Cops remain pro-ICE.

Audre Lorde, in a 1989 commencement address, said, "Remember this, despair is a tool of your enemies. That rumor, 'You can’t fight City Hall,' is circulated by City Hall. Facing the realities of our lives gives us the motivation for action, it gives us the power to change. You are not powerless."

Tens of thousands of working-class kids are organizing walkouts against ICE, coordinating with students in their region, and pushing back against the regime.

Not only does this give people confidence to keep organizing, its going to have a massive impact in families and communities across the US.

A large student walkout happened to protest ICE with students from six different high schools in the East Bay. The crowd took over the median, sidewalk, and the front of a Starbucks store.

They are not magically absolved of their racism just because they are offended by ICE. Being offended by ICE isn’t a get out of being responsible for your racism free card.

Look the reality is that a lot of liberal racists are very offended by ICE’s behavior and they are also still liberal racists

There really seems to be a lot of kayfabe happening right now. Trump is pretending to de-escalate to placate Dems so they don't demand reform, and Dems are making up fake reforms so they can pretend like they made changes while they vote to fund DHS.

Just in general, folks, if you see a "leftish" argument-- like "that's ableism/racism/sexism" for an extremely popular and effective protest tactic, guess what! It's not any of those things!

There are people trying to stop others from using whistles, and next they'll say it's ableism.

As your disability advocate friend, I will be the first with serious sensory sensitivity to say that I would rather be in pain than someone get abducted, or shot.

Block/mute this argument, it's an op.

At the end of the day, the Black Lives Matter era was about whether people should be killed in the street, and lots of people decided yeah and put those little blue flags on their cars. It spread to everyone because it stopped for no one.

No, we don't have the resources right now for a general strike. We don't have the rent and food funds or the bail funds or the child and healthcare funds.

But the response to that isn't "welp, we're fucked, so much for a general strike."

It's to start organizing those things in your community.
