Been trying to sort something since the start of September (the DWP does not move at pace) but I’m still in limbo with it and I know I’m going to struggle to get the rent paid this month so, I’m again, shittily having to boost this.
Again hoping it’s the last damn time, ko-fi.com/lawsonsv

I'm glad we have the names and faces of the four currently detained and not just being vaguely noted as a "trial run" by certain white journalists on this app

With the relevant transfer windows closing in a matter of days, it seems pretty clear that Obed Vargas isn’t moving this window. As a result I’ve been rethinking what seemed like the conventional wisdom around a possible move for him. It’s admittedly no small amount of hindsight, but here we are.

Playing around with @futi.live organized possession data.

In 2025 #MLS play, the Sounders ranked #1 in success rate and 8th in progression phases which @johnspacemuller.com defines as possession sequences where teams advance the ball into threatening areas before a shot or box entry.

Maybe when the magazine drops I’ll be better able to put how this feels into words, but for now I’ll just say:

I’ve gotten to realize a number of my dreams - both childhood and otherwise - as a writer for Sounder at Heart, but getting to write the cover story for a magazine is on another level.
This is not the final product but we’re so happy with the way the cover turned out that we wanted to share.

Look, I’m never going to root for Jose, but his side beating 9-man Madrid by enough to qualify for the playoffs by dropping rapist-employing and empowering Marseille with a last-second GK goal is the sort of thing that dreams are made of

Love the Athletic’s reporting here.

“Opta said FBRef was bad so it must be true. Saying it had anything to do with gambling is a conspiracy theory. By the way, place a $5 bet on FanDuel and get a year’s subscription to the Athletic”
I still don’t understand what FBref did wrong here, they have cloudflare anti-bot protection & other measures to protect it. other sites that have even more advanced data and easier to scrape. I don’t feel great about Opta pushing its weight around like this.

Teams should be conscious about the fact that celebrating Black excellence, Black history, and Black culture on the field and in the city in which they reside doesn't require a specific date to fall in line with their schedule. They can just...do it.
As a person who is black and part of the lgbtq+ community it bothers me we can celebrate one and not the other. They do such a good job with Juneteenth last year like we can celebrate outside of June just like Pride

In November 2025 Polymarket deleted a tweet from its official account that used an anti-Indian slur.
MLS and the Leagues Cup now have a sponsorship deal with Polymarket.

"The partnership includes safeguards designed to protect the integrity of MLS and Leagues Cup matches, including independent monitoring of trading activities and collaboration on MLS and Leagues Cup markets offered."

Canonically in the multiverse a bad timeline splits off when something that obviously was the proper thing to happen is wrongfully prevented from happening, so the only hope is to go back and do it right, oh, I see the Seahawks will be meeting the Patriots in the Super Bowl
