It will be worth keeping an eye on, and I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure Obed Vargas could/maybe should be eligible to play as soon as Thursday’s Copa del Rey match against Betis, and could be added to the squad list for CL against Club Brugge.

My kid aged out of GS so if you want to support a cookie seller this year please consider someone off this list!
Hey everyone!

Huge news! Our trans girl scout list has sold a total of 146,000 boxes as of today!

But MANY trans girl scouts only have 20, 30, 40 boxes sold.

I just resorted our list to put those on the top.

Go get your girl scout cookies and make a trans kid's day!

$3.5m and a 20% sell-on is great work for a guy who's entering the final year of his deal and could leave for free 12 months from now (sign a pre-contract in the summer).

Doubly so b/c they don't win a title last year – and make literally $10m extra on the way to it – if they'd sold him last summer
@mattdoyle.bsky.social Thoughts on the Obed Vargas deal for a rumored 3M? Feels a bit like like the sounders dropped the ball here. I kept hearing about a big payday once he sold, but they waited too long and now can barely get anything for him. Or am I reading the tea leaves wrong?

In their current situation, it never made a ton of sense to me that Atleti would sign Obed now and loan him out until the Summer. Sounds like maybe they agreed cadenaser.com/nacional/202...

This would likely be a dream move for the 20-year-old.
Atlético Madrid in talks with Sounders to sign Obed Vargas

There was at least some fire causing all that Obed Vargas-transfer rumor smoke, it appears. None other than Atlético Madrid — the club Vargas has been a fan of since a young age — is in talks with the Seattle Sounders about a potential move, according to The Athletic. Adding even more credence to the report is Spain-based reporter Martin del Palacio, who says Atlético is joined by some unnamed clubs in England trying to secure Vargas' move. The transfer windows in both England and Spain close on Monday.

As of Sunday morning, details are still extremely vague. There are no dollar amounts attached to this rumor, nor is it clear when Vargas would be expected to leave the Sounders.

Obed Vargas just keeps growing

Midfielder has grown into a key part of a MLS Cup contender.

Sounder at HeartTim Ostlund-Foss

Even if a deal is struck, it's entirely possible that Vargas could remain with the Sounders through the summer. Considering the caliber of teams apparently interested in Vargas, it seems unlikely that they'd be looking for him to join at midseason. Remaining with the Sounders, then, would give him a much clearer path to playing time and optimize his chances of making the Mexico World Cup roster. Vargas has just three senior national team caps, but has apparently impressed assistant coach Rafa Marquez, who is reportedly being allowed to pick several players with an eye toward the future.

The Sounders seem unlikely to be driving a hard bargain at this point. Vargas has made clear that he intends to leave at the end of his current contract, and this is likely the Sounders' last chance to cash in. While the Sounders are unlikely to extract maximum value at this point, a modest fee combined with a future sell-on percentage would be significant. If he's also allowed to stay here until the World Cup, it's even better.

Still about £200 off from being able to pay my rent so any shares would really help, sorry to be a bother
Been trying to sort something since the start of September (the DWP does not move at pace) but I’m still in limbo with it and I know I’m going to struggle to get the rent paid this month so, I’m again, shittily having to boost this.

Leyva did come on at halftime, but by that point Necaxa were already trailing by 2 goals and down a man. The game finished 2-0
For the first time since his move, Danny Leyva is on the bench to start the game for Necaxa as they take on Club America. Martin Carini hasn’t been hesitant to make halftime subs, so he could certainly come into the game as early as the start of the second half.
