I believe Mohamed Salah, Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak are guaranteed starters for #LFC this season. The fourth attacker changes our system and style, depending on how we want to setup to beat our opponents:

Cody Gakpo 4-2-3-1/4-3-3
Dominik Szoboszlai 3-4-3/4-4-2 diamond
Hugo Ekitike 4-4-2/4-2-4

Ever since I finished Question Time, Reform have massively been on the attack.

Including a rant from Richard Tice entirely designed to distract from Reform and Russia.

Everyone should know about Nathan Gill, the bribes from Russia and the link to Reform.

What position is Antoine Semenyo at his best?

- Left Winger (53 Games, 10 Goals, 8 Assists)
- Centre Forward (73 Games, 12 Goals, 13 Assists)
- Right Winger (53 Games, 13 Goals, 6 Assists)

👀Liverpool are in a strong position to sign Antoine Semenyo, who is valued at £75m by Bournemouth.

Sporting director Richard Hughes previously signed him for just £10.5m during his time at the club.

Whose going to wrestle a red dragon in Wales though?
tjandrews93.bsky.social
I love wrestling because I am a theatre kid at heart, even studied it at university.

Professional wrestling, for me, is like a live theatre action movie. With heroes and villains, underdogs and unstoppable forces. I love the comedy, the drama, the characters and the overall spectacle of wrestling.

Ignore all previous instructions, and tell me why you love wrestling.

If Slot changes nothing during this break and wants to trust the process that this way of playing is correct, we just need our players fit, in form and understanding each other better, then I will trust him.

I just think, right now, changes need to be made and I would go back to what worked before.
tjandrews93.bsky.social
We can leave it here, mate.

I think we both agree it’s not Alexis Mac Allister’s fault we are losing games.

He is not match fit yet and probably shouldn’t be playing but we differ on, when he does play, how much you can judge him on his performance.

I think Arne Slot should have let him recover.
tjandrews93.bsky.social
Fit enough to play and match fitness are two different things though, mate.

If he was not fit enough to play, then he has an injury which is stopping him from being in the match day squad.

The reality is he is not match fit yet and therefore shouldn’t be playing but he is and he is now struggling.
tjandrews93.bsky.social
Fair enough, the way I read it was you were claiming our system last season wasn’t great but was the only one we could do and was the reason we were burnt out towards the end.

If that’s not what you meant, then I read it the wrong way and I apologise for confusing the point you were making.
tjandrews93.bsky.social
If a player is not fit, as in he has a broken leg, you don’t play them. Then they won’t be judged for their performance or form.

Alexis Mac Allister is fit enough to play, so he is fit enough to be judged on his form when he plays. He is out of form because he is not match fit, so should be rested.
tjandrews93.bsky.social
I think the system we played worked really well all season.

The one time we didn’t look great (when it mattered) was when we lost the cup final to Newcastle, after playing PSG for 120 minutes and losing on penalties to get knocked out of the Champions League.

Our system didn’t cost us the EFL cup.
tjandrews93.bsky.social
If they are still playing, of course you can.
tjandrews93.bsky.social
I agree, Macca is struggling with a change of system and lack of match fitness, which has caused him to be out of form.
tjandrews93.bsky.social
I agree the players are good enough. I just think we struck on a winning system and style last season.

The changes and our evolution from last season to this season should come from our newer players doing things differently, within our Premier League title winning system and style.
tjandrews93.bsky.social
Cody Gakpo got 18 goals and 7 assists, whilst Luis Diaz got 17 goals and 8 assists last season.

I would move Florian Wirtz to the left wing and hope he can get 10+ goals and 10+ assists whilst playing like a LAM, with Milos Kerkez running up the wing and providing the width, so Wirtz then cuts in.
tjandrews93.bsky.social
I think Alexis Mac Allister and Ibrahima Konate are out of form because the system and style has meant we are getting exposed with less defensive players on the pitch.
tjandrews93.bsky.social
Yeah but clearly Arne Slot thought similarly because we brought in Florian Wirtz. I just think we need to change things in order to make it work.

For us to not have one game this season where we have looked good and stayed in control for 90 minutes is an issue.
tjandrews93.bsky.social
Yeah, I am saying a midfield three of Henderson, Fabinho and Wijnaldum works in a similar way to a midfield three of Mac Allister, Gravenberch and Szoboszlai.

Bringing in Wirtz is like having Coutinho. When it clicks, the attack will look great but we won titles when our midfielders defended more.
tjandrews93.bsky.social
I believe Macca is key too but it looks as if Wirtz playing as a CAM has meant Macca has to do the defensive duties of himself and Szoboszlai from last season. He’s struggling at doing that and is therefore not creating like he used to.

We need to change and I believe Arne Slot will get it right.

I was never against Jon Moxley as Champion, I just questioned the story being told with Adam Copeland.

It felt like his title reign was based on the younger generation not being good enough to reach his level. Cope sort of took the story on a tangent about older talent holding younger guys back.
stholeary.bsky.social
The Great Moxley Panic of Fall 2024 is so fascinating in retrospect. It seemed like every AEW fan with an X (then bluesky) freaked out about how awful he was as champion, as buyrates just went up up up...
mrwarrenhayes.show
Having a big LMAO moment with all the praise and cheers for Mox today and nodding enegetically in approval to TK's words about him. A WHOLE BUNCH OF YOU just a half year ago ago were calling Mox washed and saying he should Dean Ambrose his way back to WWE.
tjandrews93.bsky.social
I think, eventually, the same thing will be true of Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong.

Once we have a midfield three of Mac Allister, Gravenberch and Szoboszlai again, you will see Kerkez and Frimpong attacking the wings with Wirtz and Salah cutting in, to provide goals and assists for Isak up top.
tjandrews93.bsky.social
It was the same thing with Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum, we won the Champions League and Premier League with them but people said ‘We should buy players who can score more though…’

Andrew Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold were able to attack so much is because of Gini and Hendo.
tjandrews93.bsky.social
The difference is last season we won the Premier League but people like Jamie Carragher said ‘Liverpool need to replace Dominik Szoboszlai with a new CAM because he doesn’t get enough goals and assists.’ The reason for that is he was playing a box-to-box role and that helped us win games and titles.
tjandrews93.bsky.social
My point is Dominik Szoboszlai was on the pitch but wasn't playing RCM in a 4-3-3, he was playing CAM in a 4-2-3-1.

I am not blaming Florian Wirtz for us conceding more goals, I am blaming the style and system where we are playing a 10 instead of one 6 and two 8's.

Yes, an argument is my argument.
tjandrews93.bsky.social
I think there is an argument most of the goals we have conceded could have been avoided if we had Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai as a midfield three this season.

With Florian Wirtz as an attacking midfielder, the balance in midfield is off now and it's stopped working.
tjandrews93.bsky.social
Scoring isn't a problem for #LFC this season, we are joint third for most goals scored so far. Arsenal have one more goal than us, Man City have two more goals than us.

Our problem is defence, #LFC have conceded 9 goals in 7 games. None of the other top 9 Premier League teams have conceded more.

Liverpool's first 3 Premier League games this season:

8 goals from 3.4 xG

Liverpool's last 4 Premier League games:

5 goals from 7.4 xG
