I had a long talk with someone yesterday about how all prior logic and norms about the labor market have been called off because capital is in the final push to finally casualize white collar workers the way they’ve long wanted to do. From AI to non-competes to this. They smell blood in the water.

New from 404 Media: a man has been charged for allegedly wiping a Google Pixel phone before CBP could search it. Search was by a CBP Tactical Terrorism Response Team, which ACLU says "interrogate innocent travelers." Man is described as an activist online

CHRISTMAS VACATION is fine, I enjoy it for what it is, but SCROOGED is way better, and actually gets funnier as the movie goes on. It’s such a dark and fun movie, one of the best Christmas Carol versions.
Possibly controversial Xmas movie take: CHRISTMAS VACATION, aside from a handful of jokes, is mostly trash and not funny. However, SCROOGED — from the same era and also starring a 70s SNL cast member — holds up as consistently funny year in and year out.
