Oklahoma dropped its eighth straight game, a 79-69 loss to rival Texas, which shot 75% in the second half.

It's the Sooners' longest losing streak since the end of Jeff Capel's final season.

Porter Moser on new Oklahoma AD Roger Denny: “In this industry, with the industry disruption of everything, he knows he wants to fix it. I want to fix it. You’re not fixing it in February….I want to be in a different spot in the standings. He’s competitive as hell, and I love that.”

For The Ringer, I wrote about how amazing it was that the brilliant Catherine O'Hara finally became a superstar in her 60s, and how sad it is that she was taken from us just when we had all finally begun to appreciate her:
Catherine O’Hara Could Do Anything
And she pretty much did everything. The only tragedy is that it feels like she was just beginning to get the recognition her decades-long career always deserved.

Ah man, Phillip was a sports writing legend in Alabama. Was fortunate to share a press box — and a beat — with him for several years during my time in Auburn.

Enjoyed my last time catching up with him at the SEC basketball tournament in Nashville last March. He’ll be sorely missed.
