Ah man, Phillip was a sports writing legend in Alabama. Was fortunate to share a press box — and a beat — with him for several years during my time in Auburn.

Enjoyed my last time catching up with him at the SEC basketball tournament in Nashville last March. He’ll be sorely missed.

BREAKING: The NCAA has denied Oklahoma linebacker Owen Heinecke's petition for a sixth year of eligibility, according to Sooners general manager Jim Nagy.

Heinecke, whose three games of lacrosse at Ohio State in 2021 are being counted against his eligibility, will appeal the ruling.

Asked new OU AD Roger Denny how he conveyed to Harroz that he's a "dawg."

Denny: “I probably used some words I can’t repeat here, but ultimately the answer is not being willing to accept anything but winning.... We’re absolutely here to build dynasties, and I’m not going to shy away from that."
Joseph Harroz said during the interview process with Roger Denny, he was impressed but asked him something in sports parlance instead of legalese:
