SGLT2 and postop outcomes

There were significantly higher event-free survival probabilities for all-cause mortality, major adverse cardiovascular events, acute kidney injury and ketoacidosis in patients in the SGLT2 inhibitor group compared with controls

I think this came up in a recent FRCA SOE, so might be useful;

ZODIAC trial: For ischemic stroke patients who are awaiting thrombectomy, flat positioning reduced the risk of neuroworsening or death

Premature termination but seems reasonable

Statistically robust results

Best available evidence; should change practice

Results of the #SESARtrial:

Among patients with moderate/severe ARDS, inhaled sedation with sevoflurane resulted in
- fewer ventilator-free days at day 28
- lower 90-day survival
than sedation with propofol.

Now published in JAMA jamanetwork.com/journals/ja...

Is it sad I’ve already named my career defining clinical trial (which someone will probably do before me) with one of those dodgy acronym titles

Sat in lab meeting recently fairly sure I was the most stupid person in the room. I hear it’s supposed to be a good thing but it was hard work 😮‍💨

Another insightful episode. I love these mostly because they often describe the hiccups and failures along the way, although listening to this Tim is supremely impressive. And yes I did try and fail at astronaut selection 👩‍🚀
