Capitalism's profit motive naturally drives the very rich & the corporations into buying politicians & controlling the media.

It's much cheaper for them to do that than the alternative of allowing
regulations that protect people & the planet,
taxation that shares wealth &
an informed democracy

"Given Reform won't, he must. So will he know launch a national investigation into Russian infiltration into our politics?"

In case you missed this, the BBC edited a historian's speech about Trump to remove the claim that he's "the most openly corrupt president in US history." This came after Trump had threatened a $1 billion lawsuit.

Elite capitulation continues.

Read all about it here:

Trump Angrily Threatened to Sue BBC. Then Things Took a Darker Turn.
First, British Broadcasting Corporation execs resigned after Trump complained about a segment. Now the BBC edited out a line from a historian that was critical of Trump. Where does this end?

I’m beyond proud of Peter Ettedgui speaking out about Farage and the vile antisemitic abuse he endured. I first heard Peter’s story nearly 20 years ago when Farage was a virtual nobody. It’s not a hit job. Just the truth

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

Exactly!

He’s not denying the allegations

He’s trying to dismiss their significance &

Claiming he exaggerated his racism just to wind up teachers!

While focussing on himself & his ‘intent’ rather than his victims & how they felt

As his poor French teacher might say “il regrette rien”
By admitting the allegations have credence while downplaying their seriousness he's confirmed that he was racist then and that he hasn't changed since
November 24, 2025 at 10:54 PM
There is
No denial
No shame
No acknowledgment of hurt/harm
No apology

Just the non-excuses of
Long ago
Just a teenager

And the utter lie of
No intent

Farage can’t take this to court because he’d lose as the allegations are true, & known for ages

They’ve just gone unreported for far too long!
Nigel Farage has addressed the recollections of twenty contemporaries about his use of racism + antisemitism at school, saying it was "banter in a playground" many decades ago, but did not in his view amount to "direct unpleasant genuine abuse"

Best gift ever.

The problems of democracy over the last decade have largely been created by mainstream media platforming RW arseholes & promoting their hate filled misinformation.

A bit of honest, proper journalism is the vaccine democracy needs!
We all know someone stuck in a monopoly-media bubble.

Wow the wee fecker is desperate to avoid
a) defaming anyone by accusing them of lying
b) ending up losing a libel case if he tried to take them to court.
He was & is a racist wee shite who has been funded by billionaires to
1) line his own pockets
2) protect their interests
3) destroy UK democracy!

This isn't ancient history either. Farage used the term "globalist" to describe Grant Shapps just three years ago.

These are age-old antisemitic terms, and they tap into racist right-wing conspiracy theories about a one world government.

There's no excuse.

I remain genuinely gobsmacked that this wasn’t picked up more. The Alex Jones who *repeatedly accused grieving parents of making up their children’s murders*.
Anyway, “after the news we’ll be joined by Nigel Farage & definitely won’t be asking him about any of this…”
On US TV shows and podcasts from 2009-18, Farage discussed supposed plots by bankers to create a global government, citing Goldman Sachs, the Bilderberg group and George Soros as threats to democracy. Included six guest slots with the disgraced far-right US conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.
