And make no mistake, the only reason I made that comparison is that I've always been VERY pro-technological advancement. I'm a scifi fan who grew up loving futurism. Now our future looks dark--and I find I'm very ANTI-things-to-which-I-never-thought-I'd-ever-be-opposed. I hope that makes sense...

Yes, absolutely. I'd say we are experiencing a major revolution and it's hard to say if this time, by the end of that societal shift, there will be any way the ordinary person can take back their dignity... or even survive. It seriously terrifies me.
