This makes sense and is one reason I don’t do bumper stickers (the main one is that I think police might discriminate against my politics). But I do wonder if this creates partisan asymmetry, and also whether stickers do some good in normalizing minority political options in places.

Spoiler :

We find that the presence of an out-partisan bumper sticker makes drivers more likely to react with hostility to bad drivers.

While bumper stickers had no effect on how people felt about politics, they did affect how people drove.
