I wrote section 230 to protect user speech, not a company's own speech. I've long said AI chatbot outputs are not protected by 230 and that it is not a close call. Given that the Trump administration is going to the mat to protect pedophiles, states should step in to hold Musk and X accountable.
I am not a Section 230 expert but being that Twitter is creating and publishing these photos I wonder if they actually have any civil legal protection? @kenwhite.bsky.social ? @akivamcohen.bsky.social ?
What X is allowing Grok to do is unlawful or regulatory-illegal in multiple jurisdictions, creates clear DSA violations, and continues despite regulator scrutiny. The images do not need to be pornographic, non-consensual sexualised or intimate depictions are enough.

Crackpot theory: Delcy will take over, give Trump enough of a cut to make him happy and he will offer to help keep the peace there so she won't get overthrown.
Maduro's charges won't stick. It'll be deemed unsafe for him to return so he'll be offered asylum to retire in Texas and wear cowboy hats.

Is it just recency bias? Was the first term just as bad only I don't remember? Or have they truly gone into hyperdrive? I feel like I've lost perspective.
Eyes wide open, folks. They're revealing the supervillain plot.

He is the most fragile person in the world
How do the fuckers that voted for him not see it?
WH sources say Venezuela's opposition leader committed the "ultimate sin": She accepted the Nobel Peace prize.

“If she had turned it down and said, ‘I can’t accept it because it’s Donald Trump’s,’ she’d be the president of Venezuela today,” one said.

Trump in a single gaggle on Air Force One just threatened:

-- a second strike against Venezuela
-- Cuba
-- Mexico
-- Colombia
-- Iran
-- Greenland (which in turn would be an attack on the EU and Denmark)

If Maduro is illegitimate, so is she.
She and her brother, who leads the legislature, are strong Maduro allies.
BASH: There's no question that Maduro was a destabilizing force in the region. People are celebrating in the streets all over. Is it fair to say there's some benefit in him not being in power?

CHRIS MURPHY: What changes? You just heard Sen. Cotton not be able to explain who's running the country

Fiona Hill's 2019 testimony re Trump-Giuliani-Russia-Ukraine she mentioned a potential arrangement regarding Venezuela that Russia was signaling- that they'd stay out of Venezuela and let us have it if we stayed out of Ukraine and let them have it.

Anyone remember "God" from the show Nurse Jackie?
That's what Trump reminds me of.
The screenshot below doesn't include the full sentence. But it's basically Trump every holiday or death: Go in peace you pieces of shit
S1 Ep7 God goes off his meds and just shouts angry nonsense out his window.

Iran and Iraq both have outstanding arrest warrants for Trump.

Just saying.
Would MAGA be cool with them enforcing their warrants the way we just did?

(Me? While I encourage anyone wanting to arrest Trump, I don't want the precedent of allowing that shit on US soil for any American, so no.)

I've been wearing the sleep mask on the left (black) for 5 years and it has served me well. The elastic is giving so I decided to replace it with the one on the right (gray). What a fucking upgrade. While the old one wasn't uncomfortable, the new one feels like a soft hug and is comforting.

“It is proper, constitutional, and legal for a federal grand jury to indict a sitting president for serious criminal acts that are... contrary to, the president’s official duties. In this country, no one... is above the law.”

My father in law, mid-70s, was diagnosed with early stage Alzheimer's a few years ago. He takes one cog a year unless there's some drastic change. But he was never given a cog until they went specifically saying something wasn't right and he eventually got the Alz dx.
Given how often he posts about this, it seems less like reassurance for others and more like he’s trying to convince himself that he passed the cognitive exam.

Congressman Robert Garcia used a first-edition Superman comic book. The comic was placed under a copy of the U.S. Constitution, along with a photograph of his late parents and his certificate of U.S. citizenship.
Technically, he used the constitution. But I think the comic book counts.
Strange takes on Mayor Zamdani swearing his oath on the Qu’ran. It has nothing to do with church & state. The point of the oath is for the person swearing in to do so upon some text that is sacred TO THEM. Some Presidents swore in w/o any book. John Quincy Adams was sworn on a law book. His choice.

Trump also had a “pattern” of rejecting information that didn’t fit his false narrative.

Fantastic piece putting the Bari Weiss Experiment in perspective
As it happens, I have experience with high-level government demands to stop an explosive, accurate story from running, and I also have experience with 60 Minutes spiking a story I was involved in, so I have thoughts about the travesty at CBS. If you want some journalism anecdotes, here are a lot:

Memory lane meal from my New England childhood: ham steak, baked beans, and canned brown bread. I had to order the bread online because it's not real popular outside of New England (more Boston, but my CT family ate this occasionally).

I haven't had a mix plate in almost 5 years.
Ordered some Ono Hawaiian tonight, and it's like ... 85% there. Pretty good. I don't know if it's actually not as good or if it's just the lack of ocean air.

I remember learning a few years ago that most orange cats are males and I looked it up and it was like 80%. Somehow I didn't catch that about 99.9% of calicos are female, which is even more impressive.
And the reason is connected. Orange is carried on the X, and to get a male calico you need an XXY
