And if they can only name dinosaurs from Jurassic Park you gotta be skeptical
Never sleep with someone who doesn't have at least one favorite dinosaur

Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

I can do a passably feminine voice (and train other girls to!) but the voice I like to use in my day to day life is purposely a little clocky.

Why? Because I want other trans people to see me rocking my shit, and understand that you can be trans and POWERFUL.
You are safe to clock me. I'd actually hate it if another trans person noticed that I was trans and decided *not* to talk to me for that reason. I want my people to notice me. Reskeet this if you're proudly and gladly clocked.

Yes, there is evidence that the Roman population declined in the 5th century CE.

One reason for this is the working poor were so heavily taxed they lived at basically subsistence levels, so they couldn't afford to have kids.

Meanwhile the wealthy were exempt from most taxes.

Go figure...

Very good thread here on the "fall" of the Roman Empire
Ok, putting on training wheels for this conversation.

The main reason historians don't really like the notion of a "fall" of the Roman Empire anymore is because the transition between the Western Roman Empire and its barbarian successor states was far more orderly than people imagine

For over 150 years, trans people have used courts to change legal sex. While writing Before Gender, I found what may be the first case in the US: a formerly enslaved trans woman in Georgia in 1869. Her story shows that trans people found legal support long before the word transgender even existed.

My mom's bestie sang that Rihanna song Diamonds "shine light like a braiman"

When we asked her what the hell a braiman was her wife got upset at us because she finds it super adorable when her wife messes up lyrics 😂
my partner still laughs at me because this is what I always thought the song said as well; it makes more sense! They have to sleep SOMETIME! Little me had it right!
i used to think the lyric was ‘i wanna rock and roll all night / and part of every day’ and i remember thinking, honestly that sounds reasonable

If Pokemon really wanted to explore a new direction, they'd make a Pokemon veterinary game. Make players learn to gather supplies, diagnose, and treat weird ailments. Make them travel between PokeCenters to deal with "unusual cases." What kinds of weird illnesses can a Snorlax develop while asleep?

When we abolish capitalism there will be fewer reasons to be angry

So we probably won't get much good punk rock

An awful decision
