In my estimation this works better if you have a large contact surface area.

If you are dealing with small pieces you are better going with a compliant spring type mechanism.

I'll maybe share an example of such tomorrow as I'll need one to work with the chain/body connection.

Here's the piece with the cutout fins.

In general the idea is when 3D printing the tolerances change depending on printer, nozzle, filament type and filament colour.

By cutting in fins you provide a bit of degree of freedom to the parts so they can bend and still provide a snug fit.
Printed part with grip fins to aid in fitting tolerance.

I wonder if I should make the fins curved on the top and bottom as well...

It's probably better because it'll reduce the 90 degree overhangs even if they are small.

It honestly feels like I'm talking to myself most of the time here on bluesky but I still vastly prefer it to last stage twitter where you just talk to bots or angry people.

Adding some compliance grip fins to the printables to hopefully make them fit better.

Trying to wear a wrist splint while modeling is harder than it seems. I keep accidently holding down modifier keys and wondering why things are going crazy.

Me too. Including a medical one.

I still support their strike action but rotating strikes are better, I think, all around.

It's not done but here's the progress on the Trails in the Sky style printable Orbment I'm working on (AO render).

It should open and close properly and the individual quartz are locked in place with a rotating mechanism so they can be removed and re-ordered as desired.

Over and over we keep catering to the big tech firms from the US and over and over again we get screwed.

We never seem to learn that we've got to insist on basics of decent behaviour before we let them move fast and break things.

I'm so sick of it.

My friend circle has gotten so small, it’s not even a circle anymore. It’s a dot.

"AI is here to stay"
My guy, it's had practical applications for over a decade.

"It's not going away"
Neat, neither is plastic.

"We have to adapt"
Great! Let's regulate and enforce or push for more equitable laws around data rights and labor.

"No not like that"

I hate the justification "the public won't care."

Too often bad actors think they can get away with things because the public won't care. They take a lot of measures, be they clandestine or overt lobbying, to make sure the public won't care.

Awareness is the enemy of indifference.

The homeowner saw on the security camera that a bear was playing on the outdoor swing every day, but couldn't get on.
So he had a bigger swing built, and this was the result.😎🤣💙☺️

I don't like this repeated idea that resource projects and military spending represent "investment in our future" and "build Canada strong" while social programs like healthcare are filed under operational expenses that need to be brought under control and do not build us up for the future.

They'd have to fix the wheels first.

I saw Dragon Quest XI S in 2D for the first time and now I want to dedicate my next playthrough of it in that mode.
