A 15 year old boy with autism went missing earlier this week

He was selling fruit with his family in Springbranch when he disappeared

They filed a missing person’s report & begged the public to help find him

Turns out he was in a Houston ICE detention facility

They kidnapped a disabled child!

Every time you put more restrictions or processes to claim disability benefits, it only harms the people they claim to support.

It won't prevent the (tiny number of) people who will still find ways to circumvent the system.

It'll prevent disabled folk getting what they need.

You want to fight fascism? Engage the disability community.

Practice inclusivity. Wear a mask. Make protests and resistance accessible.

Don’t treat us expendable, less than or “better off dead”.

Every time we talk about caretakers murdering the people they take care of, the focus is always on the caretaker because yeah this clearly doesnt happen in a vacuum. But my god the disabled people left to die in obscurity is so bleak. Sorry for being a burden I guess

for example; aurora tackles themes of femininity, motherhood, womanhood, (in some cases) religion. For me when i make decisions as small as gender it can completely alter how I write a character!!

I need ppl to understand that it doesn’t matter if you were born with one or not; you WILL become disabled at some point in your lifetime. Be it age, accident, genetics, etc. Mental or physical. It WILL happen. We won’t be able-bodied forever.

Helping disabled folks helps EVERYONE!

Not everyone can boycott Amazon

Many disabled & elderly people are housebound and rely on it

Some medical supplies are more affordable there than anywhere else.

Instead of judging, help create networks of care.

Give rides, drop off food and meds, donate to mutual aid

It’s not something that’s only gatekept by the “most severe”.
Disability is a varied, diverse spectrum.

If your condition(s) affect your life, if they disable you… you are valid.
