One Russian paper today reports that “Half of all clothes and shoe shops in Russia have shut down….[due to] drop in incomes & slowing economic growth.” Another wonders whether Russia is suffering from “economic stagnation or technical recession.” #ReadingRussia

Coverage of the refugee proposals demonstrates why we have such a broken political system. Endless focus on left-wing anger and right-wing support. Basically nothing on whether the reforms will work. They will not, which is why we'll still be here having the same debate in three years.

anyone got any experience/made something with the UK parliament API?

I'm thinking about making a page that shows how Labour MPs vote for this latest far-right shite from the home secretary.

Ideally I render each MP's interests/dontations too.

Time to shine a big light on these grifters.

Not sure how am going to teach on rights and citizenship and immigration and refugee policies tomorrow. UK government just dropped policy that is way outside the parameters of the global surveys we read.

What has happened here?
I literally do not know.

Absolutely not. We kicked out the Tories who were trying to send frightened Syrians and Afghans to Rwanda. Why the fuck would we want to deport schoolkids who are actually *settled*? Fuck Labour.
Asked if Keir Starmer believes British people want to "see refugee children pulled out of school and deported after 10 years in this country”, his spokesman says that “what the British public wants and what this government was elected on a mandate to deliver was to secure our borders"

No sympathy with THEM, no sympathy AT ALL. Even if asylum seekers were to cost UK more than 1% of total plunder (tax havens, tax avoidance schemes, embezzlements, lucrative bonuses…), doesn’t Farage & Co’s lack of sympathy for people who risk all to get to safety, make you realise you’ll be next?

LABOUR WIN TOMMY ROBINSON MEDAL FOR OUTSTANDING FASCISM

Head racist thug, Tommy, says "w'done Labour".

"We reward violent street rioters" Starmer didn't say, before rewarding violent street rioters.

Extraordinary achievement by Starmer's Labour Party.

Imagine enough Labour MPs losing the whip by rebellion, or defecting to force Starmer to rely on the 'Tories' to pass legislation. Wondering how smug the Starmer stans will feel then. Truly 4D.

Of course it won't happen...
Labour MP Brian Leishman: "The Government has surrendered to... the vile rhetoric of Reform. Does the Home Secretary not see that removing the legal obligation to support asylum seekers who will be otherwise destitute, is as far away from Labour Party principles and values as we can get?"

The right wing approach now is to put me in a box with an incredibly successful politician who just won a stunning victory.
