How's that 87.4% cpc approval looking now, PP? Seems CPC supporters had hope change may come. It didn't - probably got more support than they thought. So normies are leaving the rage bait, culture war, maple maga BS.

Floor crossings will be happening soon enough - no one likes PP (just like in HS).

Reagan was the beginning of Trump, and you have to work pretty hard not to see trickle down. The modern GOP shift toward deregulation, culture war politics, and grievance driven messaging was built slowly while Democrats assumed the guardrails would hold.

Instead of anyone saying "Right, so why aren't we talking to the premiers?" we saw the federal government create a bunch of carrots and sticks and just implicate themselves further while the premiers once again skated while the situation got progressively worse.
How is this any way to run a country?

Heather McPherson in particular likes to stand up in Question Period to demand that the federal government *do something* about Danielle Smith .
No, that's not how this works. The federal government is not the parent and provinces are not children. They are co-equal divisions of power.
the number of folks who angrily demand that the PM 'save them' from what the premier they elected, has done to their healthcare, blows me away. Esp from Ontario, where less than half are voting with a direct result of Ford getting 3 cons majorities.

Brief thread.
My head is going to explode from the sheer civic illiteracy that We The Media have fostered by making everything a federal issue, and being absolutely allergic to holding premiers to account for failures in their jurisdictions.
Well here's your problem.

It's just objectively silly — and, I would argue, very counter-productive — that housing has come to be seen as a *federal* issue.

Provincial and municipal governments increasingly only exist as rumours in Canada.
