Shame on UC for continuing to punish Dr Tiffany Willoughby-Herard for showing support for Palestine!!! Please consider contributing to this mutual aid fund below.
Please donate if and as you're able to help Tiffany Willoughby-Herard defend herself from UC punitive discipline for her solidarity with students and Palestinians and address the health problems arising from her violent arrest. chuffed.org/project/1562...

This is, in my opinion, not only the correct moral/ethical/legal position but also the correct political framing. Everyone can see the agency is out of control; everyone can see that it is constantly violating human rights. "Scrap it and start over" is the moderate position.
Mamdani: "I am in support of abolishing ICE. What we see is an entity that has no interest in fulfilling its stated reason to exist. We're seeing a government agency that is supposed to be enforcing some kind of immigration law, but instead what it's doing is terrorizing people."

KRISTI NOEM: Don't say his name! I mean, for heaven's sake, we shouldn't have people continue to dox law enforcement

BRENNAN: His name is public

Two days ago it was Elissa Slotkin. Last week it was Jerome Powell. Before that, Mark Kelly. Weaponizing the justice system against your opponents is an authoritarian tactic.

The only person not being investigated for the shooting of Renee Good is the federal agent who shot her.
Breaking news: The Justice Department has issued subpoenas for Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey as part of an investigation alleging that they are impeding federal law enforcement officers’ abilities to do their jobs in the state.

It's incredibly demoralizing to constantly see the highest institutions of government and academia and the most important and widely seen news outlets knuckle under one after another, but then to see the gulf between that and the bravery of communities and neighbors and teachers - that's something

We evacuated our kids out of Minneapolis this weekend and my spouse reports that as she drove them out of town she saw "multiple freeway exits where people are being pulled over." It feels like the Twin Cities is being subjugated by a hostile occupying force.

It doesn’t actually matter what non-Venezuelans think of Maduro. It is totally irrelevant to the fact that the US kidnapped an elected, sitting President and bombed its capital primarily to gain access to Venezuela’s oil.

Rubio is claiming that they did not need Congress permission because it was a law enforcement mission. The US is behaving as a global police state, extending its own arbitrary legal decisions to the whole world.

This is not a problem just for Venezuela.

LOL at pundits who earnestly say that this imperialist invasion is truly about democracy. Because we all know that Trump accepted the democratic will of the people when he lost in 2020 right?

(To be clear, this isn't just about Trump but about the ongoing violence of US imperialism).
