“You said there were no words after the murder of those two individuals,” said Rev. Jack Perkins Davidson. “I think the words are ‘Abolish ICE.’”

Good candidates - people with strong values, deep community roots, and enough self-knowledge & confidence to show up authentically - can make any race competitive. It’s (probably) not too late to run this year - sign up at runforwhat.net and @runforsomething.net can help you get started.

She gets amazing health insurance and a pension
Via @ctmirror.org:

“Pavalock-D’Amato was not in her seat when Ritter spoke, but she was unrepentant when speaking to reporters later. She said she had received a death threat via text Thursday.

‘I don’t have any regrets whatsoever,’ she said.”

Isn't it interesting that Ryan Fazio's big idea to make electricity less expensive doesn't ask one penny less of Eversource? Putting global shareholders over every resident and business in the state.

He might as well campaign as Eversource for Governor.

There is only one choice for our next congresswoman for the CT First District

It is @jilchrest.bsky.social. Full Stop.
“They’re arguing that they need to negotiate policy changes. You cannot negotiate with liars. You cannot negotiate with murderers. You cannot negotiate with fascists.”
— CT Rep Jillian Gilchrest, US Congress Candidate, on Dems funding ICE for 2 more weeks

it's always fun to see how far Republican candidates will go to debase themselves to win a primary that leaves them wholly unelectable to normal people in the general.

Erin's fatal mistake was not being independently wealthy. Historically, no one in that party cares what you think if you're rich.

We need to *incrementally* stop dragging elderly people from their cars, shipping 5-year-olds to prison camps, and shooting nurses in the back.
I asked Connecticut U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal what message he has for constituents who want to see ICE abolished.

“Stopping funding for ICE is a first step toward reform.”

Taylor Rehmet wins against Leigh Wambsganss, a conservative activist who helped lead right-wing efforts to take over TX school boards.

With all early vote, and 95% of precincts, in, Dem up 57/43.

Epstein is the most garish and harrowing manifestation of this but oligarchy makes life miserable in a thousand other ways. A core point of democracy is that no one should have so much power that they can make themselves everybody's problem. We should have a political party that believes that
The Epstein emails should really end the debate over whether society should have billionaires. "Do you want there to be a class of people so powerful they can fuck your kids and no one will even try to do anything" seems like an easy sell if everyone in politics wasn't trying to get on their payroll
