😵‍💫 so they opted not to redesign the heat shield that likely needs to be redesigned and instead plan to change trajectory and hope that helps. Boy oh boy let’s hope history does not repeat itself.

This is a core memory from my childhood.

Last year I read the book Challenger by Adam Higgenbotham which is a fantastic narrative non fiction that covers events before and after. Highly recommend this book.
A friend reminded me it was 40 years ago today the Challenger took off, with its teacher bound for space, as we all watched

I went to elementary school in Houston, a block away from NASA. One of my classmates—a blonde, who wore striped, high collared shirts—had a dad who was an astronaut

Took the spark, picked up the hold and purchased two books from the shop.

My 3rd copy of the Picture of Dorian Gray because it’s one of my favorites and includes other writings by Wilde. The Cat Who Saved Books I couldn’t resist. And obviously my hold was some good ole sci-fi.

A hold is available for pick up at the library but I have been having a hard time making space for reading physical books lately and I already have one started. Do I cancel or grab it for the library spark it might give?

The Citylord is after our intrepid crew for... reasons. They debate how best to avoid capture. 🏃🏼🏃🏼‍♂️🏃🏿‍♀️ 💨

Note: "Post-deceased" is the polite term for zombie in Shorespine.

From an action-comedy novel about the wacky misadventures of a heist crew.

I've posted this snip before I think, but it's one of my faves. Mireia is having a little existential crisis & really needs a hug... or maybe more than a hug ❤️

From Book 2 of my #Atlantis trilogy.

I think I've said this before but I will again.

The very act of reading is political. If you are one of these people who do not believe politics belong in books do *not* follow me and if you already do now is the time to *unfollow* me.

A good measure of how crazy things have gotten is if you pretend we’re in a Star Wars movie and then imagine how long the opening crawl would have to be for an audience of people from 4 weeks ago to be caught up

After LOTR was published, Tolkien got mail from angry readers who didn't like that he let Frodo fail at the end. Tolkien replied that it was impossible not to fail. No mortal can withstand the devil. Frodo did what he needed to get the Ring to a place where fate/grace could allow it to be destroyed.
