Oh. Cool. Just as the President is using every power he can to suppress dissent and stifle speech, @whitehouse.senate.gov and the @judiciarydems.senate.gov are trying to hand Trump a new tool to suppress speech online.

What a joke.
Sen. WHITEHOUSE: We finally are moving to file a bipartisan Section 230 repeal bill. Waiting any longer serves no useful purpose.

Just heard disappointing news that @warren.senate.gov will co-sponsor the Kids Online Safety Act again despite overwhelming opposition from LGBTQ, human rights, abortion rights, and racial justice groups.

This is a horrific betrayal of her constituents, particularly trans youth and their families.

But it hits different when it’s paired with propaganda for Trump’s deportation machine.

❌Defunding CDPH
❌Defunding CPL
❌Defunding Complete Streets
❌Defunding Vision Zero
✅Ballooning CPD

Then who exactly are we protecting?

Senator Kelly is correct.

Plus a Public Service Announcement:

KEY section of Department of Defense's Law of War Manual is 18.3.2.1.

The VERY rule on the "requirement" to refuse illegal orders gives as its paradigmatic example of what is "clearly illegal:
"orders to fire upon the shipwrecked."

Private equity is looting our malls, doctors' offices, and nursing homes.

Heck, you name it, and private equity has probably already bought it.

Their scheme spares no one. I’m fighting to stop it.

If you want to get to know a person, you could look at their social media.

But the truth also lies within the Notes app: Too private to post, too important to forget, too forgettable to remember.
We asked strangers to show us their Notes app. Here’s what we learned.
A repository of wish lists, reminders and half-baked ideas, the digital jotting pad may be the most analog app in your phone — and in some ways, the most revealing.

Every single one of these particular and nuanced policies that made people's lives just a tiny bit more manageable were the result of sometimes decades of advocacy from every day people. Hours of testimonies, calls, pleas. And all are being wiped away en masse because the cruelty is the point.

This is not a deal — it's an empty promise.

Trump and his Republican Congress are making healthcare more expensive for the middle class and ending it for working families.

Time for Democrats to stand tall for affordable healthcare. www.politico.com/news/2025/11...

Yes! Most people's experience with AI is not "a very tedious, data-heavy, repetitive process that if automated could vastly improve the quality of my work and job."

It's "mom sending me fake videos of riots in her neighborhood, she's scared to go outside" or "trump shits on protestors."
Even if you think, like I do, that AI has a lot of cool potential uses, that’s a very understandable reason why a lot of people get angry whenever it’s brought up right now.

Historians: The secret police are a characteristic aspect of totalitarian and authoritarian regimes and we must recognize them as a cautionary tale.

Republicans: At long last we have created the secret police from the famous totalitarian regimes Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy!

Legally, this is no different from Iran sinking a Disney cruise in international waters and then saying "it's all good, they were terrorists carrying drugs."

Which is to say, it's wholly illegal and has been for centuries. You couldn't even do this with a Letter of Marque and Reprisal.
Another illegal US maritime strike—again in the Pacific.

Against a vessel allegedly operated by an unspecified "designated terrorist organization."

Four reported fatalities—dubbed w/o ID or evidence "narco-terrorists."

There's a word for premeditated killings outside of armed conflict.

I've gotten a mystery box from Miami Fruit that introduced me to some new fruits I'd never seen in america.
I wonder how many fruits are out there that taste delicious, but just aren’t profitable/stable enough to turn into an industry so we just don’t know about them in America.
