My wife is out today visiting family. And our cat Pippin is quite upset that it’s just me and her brother Sam home. If I get up to make dinner or go to the bathroom she follows yowling her head off. If I try to watch TV she yowls that I’m not spending my ever iota of attention on her.

I was born in Toronto but grew up in Brooklyn NY. At 15 my mom decided to move us back up to Canada. At the time I argued and sulked about it. These days not a week goes by that I don’t thank her memory for getting me out of America.
