MTG pulled a fast one on Mike Johnson and Trump by resigning rather than retiring. If she had retired Kemp would be able to appoint her replacement until the election next Nov. But by resigning her seat will be left vacant until Jan. 2027 leaving Johnson with an even slimmer lead in the House.
