Watching the newest Scarlett Johansson vehicle. Dinosaurs are fun, but man it’s bad script. Might need to be drunk or high for this one. Maybe both?

note to everyone else they're trying to intimidate: telling the administration to fuck off remains the single most effective response
Lol the US just abandoned their effort to get mad at the guy that threw Bolsonaro in prison. Big "my toddler tantrum didn't get me nothing so we're done here" energy.

Always worth remembering that the median voter thinks the immigration system is vastly easier, faster, and more liberal than it is.

Giving them the "restrictive" system they want would typically be an improvement.
the typical voter is clearly more restrictionist than the average liberal. they want less migration and a more orderly process. and if democrats picked fights around the volume of immigration and for a more chaotic process, this would work in the president's favor.

…my local Play It Again Sports is going to sell the discs either as a fundraiser for the school, or as gallery space for the students to sell their work!

I just got the news that everyone’s on board!

I’ll drop more deets as the project progresses!

Wow, that must be so terrifying to think you're being abducted.
The agent, who’s assigned to another HSI office and is in Minnesota on “temporary detail for an operation,” is unfamiliar with the Twin Cities, did not know where they were going, and “was in fear that he was being abducted.”

hard to really wrap your head around the amount of time and resources the federal government has put into torturing this one random guy over the last nine months
A federal judge ruled Thu morning that no order of removal for Abrego Garcia had ever existed. By Thu evening, an immigration judge had conjured a “Immigration Court’s Sua Sponte Order Correcting Scrivener’s Error," Abrego Garcia's lawyers tell the judge in the emergency overnight filing:

Name a disc that you've thrown that was a total impostor.

A disc that doesn't fit the flight numbers or one that didn't fit your expectations.

I love my church! Delivering meals and Christmas gifts to needy families tomorrow through the Heart to Heart Lyon County charity. Rather than simply doing something where the credit goes to the church and the outreach is small, we partner with community organizations to do the most good.

You ever feel like you're doing a better job than ever at a certain aspect at work and, somehow, the outcomes are worse?

I've been focused on teaching kids better habits in taking care of their instruments, putting things away correctly, having good posture.

Worse than ever!

in all seriousness, Black men make up less than 2% of the public teacher workforce in the U.S., yet Black male teachers SIGNIFICANTLY boost Black students’ academic success, grad rate & college aspirations.

My music teacher friends and I used to go out for “wings Wednesday” most weeks a few years back. The younger ones have toddler kids and the older ones are retired so it’s much less frequent.

Went to the brewery for a burger tonight. Can’t remember the last time I had a burger. It was good.

Nope, now I’m just annoyed with my co-workers too

Even if we would stipulate that the *only* purpose of college is vocational training (ugh) if you think you, at 18 years old, not only know for sure what your future career will be but also know better than all the professors at a college what skills you will need for that career, why bother?

This is actually a good example of why the customer model is wrong.

I wouldn't have chosen poetry writing, but UNC made me take a class. And it absolutely made me become a much better writer, with an eye to concision and an ear now trained to the rhythm of words. I'm a better historian as a result.
If you are providing me with an education that is low utility in the world then it’s a disservice. My composition class spent four weeks on poetry. I’m sorry, but that only would’ve been useful if I wanted to be a poet. I don’t need to know iambic pentameter in order to be a victim advocate.
