The fisherman vote is up for grabs bsky.app/profile/moth...
This ice “fish-fluencer” wants ICE to get out of Minnesota.

Nate Pischke has turned his indignation and outrage about the largest deployment of masked and armed ICE agents in US history into a call for hunters and fishermen to speak out.

"Nobody wants these ding dongs in our fucking city."

the actual concern here -- as per the article! -- is that a few Republican megadonors are giving far more money to GOP superpacs than in previous cycles and this will give the Republicans a high spending floor

it's got ~nothing to do with democratic small donors, who only ever gave to campaigns

-the RNC out raising the DNC is a tale as old as time
-Democratic campaign fundraising is extremely strong across the board
-Democrats are still sending fucking non-stop texts asking for money they just mostly come from the campaigns, and they seem to be working fine for better or for worse
This is a huge deal. After years of leading in fundraising, Dem small donors are (rightly) pissed off at the spam texts and emails, as well as at congressional leadership. Meanwhile, GOP billionaire money is hitting record levels. Perfect storm.

as others have pointed out, this chart doesn't include candidate fundraising (which dems tend to give their $ to) and in which dems are CRUSHING republicans

anyway, DEMS IN DISARRAY i guess

For clarity, and for those not grasping how obscenely overblown the scenario, or the extent of the misrepresentation.

Counting only written complaints, the NHS in England alone received 256,777 in 2024-25.

4.5 complaints per 1000 people.

Tavistock trans services received 0.06 per 1000 patients.
The entire Tavistock scandal was over 8 complaints. They've fucked the entirety of trans and non binary peoples, because of 8 complaints, all of which have not materialised into anything as far as I can tell.
The real Tavistock Clinic scandal: 1,000 court cases that never materialised | A FoI request for the data behind the media hysteria over the Tavistock Clinic presents quite a different picture | Marie Shrewsbury

this... feels like a really big deal for sunderland?
People traditionally focus on the race for the title, European spots, or avoiding relegation. atm in the Premier League, there's also a rare midtable race, of who will finish higher: Sunderland or Newcastle

(As it stands, Sunderland (10th) lead by a point)

He got out after 3 months in an ICE gulag.
My electrician is a green card holder who's been here since he was a kid. He got married to a citizen, applied for citizenship, went to court for the papers and when he got there ICE kidnapped him and he's been locked up for a month.

Genuinely, the best thing the Internet has ever done is create platforms for weirdos (extremely laudatory) to share their citizen science about their special interests.

I'm not sure what's strategically optimal but the party currently locked in a doom loop with a cult of personality centered on the worst human being in the universe is probably not acting out of an understanding of electoral/legislative optimization
weird how so many democrats from competitive seats feel compelled to vote against the party line (and national interest), but republicans don't. makes you wonder if they are taking bad advice that has little to do with electoral performance, and GOP pols know this

Something I've been thinking about a lot lately is that in the height of the Panic of 1893, 1/4 of the rail in the US was run by trustees in bankruptcy.

Something can be overhyped, have way too much capital invested, and also be an enormously impactful change at the societal level.

my completely uninformed, shitpost guess is that musk intends to follow the same pattern that he's done with all of his companies in recent years of marginalizing top-level employees and consolidating all decision-making for himself and these folks can read the wall writing
So apparently at least 11 senior people (including 2 co-founders) left simultaneously xAI yesterday

Explanations?

1) Incriminating Epstein documents being circulated internally

2) Illegal activities discovered in the business

3) Extraordinary coincidence
