I've never understood why some breach notices say, "We have no reason to believe that your information was misused..." Like, why do you think a Russian ransomware gang would steal reams of your customers' Social Security numbers? For shits and giggles? No, they're using it for crime. Lots of crime.

Unsurprising. Seems like LLMs are an ok tool for basic stuff and fall short of actual knowledge in virtually every possible application, while also doing their best to keep people from developing that actual knowledge.

Started book 12 of Wheel of Time yesterday and the biggest differences in Brandon Sanderson’s writing style so far are:
- Short chapters exist! One was only 10 pages!
- We can have just a single chapter about a character doing a thing and don’t need 100 pages and 3 chapters every time
- Short chapters exist! One was only 10 pages!

My Gloomhaven mercenary packs arrived today and these characters all look insanely fun to play and have such good flavor. Hail seems absolutely bonkers if you can get her resolve mechanic going, and is probably my favorite of the lot just for how the mechanics represent the character so perfectly

I was probably 6 when my dad and I tried to play the Avalon Hill RPG “Lords of Creation”. I don’t know if my dad misunderstood the concept or was trying to make it easier, but character creation involved looking at the monster guide and me deciding I wanted to be a mermaid & I think we stopped there

Today’s alpha wolf move was bringing snacks and gas station fountain drinks and the dogs to my wife’s workplace because she and a coworker were having a fuckass day. Two other coworkers came out and another random woman stopped to say hi to the dogs too.
Whereas the top wolves are basically just acting like parents and making sure everybody’s got food and letting the cubs crawl all over them.
Honestly, the most wolf-like people around are mom friends and the dads who check your oil and sneak jumper cables into your trunk.
