Circling back after the fact: did we attain our goals? Did we HAVE clear goals? 👀
Quick question did the last ten very hastily called for general strikes happen and attain their goals?

Or are we maybe ready to actually plan the kinds of interpersonal infrastructure it would take to make actions of that scale possible for the average person?

When engaging with tough topics on the internet, it's important to ask yourself:

Am I acting like someone who cares about the people most impacted? Am I honoring them in my handling of this?

What's one thing you can do next week to strengthen your communal bonds?

I'll be hosting a swap for my local community.

Hey, remember to take breaks and do something fun. If you only ever look at the tragic stuff, you're going to stay in overdrive and burn yourself out. Looking away doesn't always mean caring less, sometimes it means giving yourself the ability to turn caring into acting.

I was raised by a formerly-Catholic-atheist who didn't do any unlearning & I frequently sum it up as: none of the faith or community, all of the guilt
Look I'm just going to say it: As someone who was raised atheist, I think a lot of you are bringing the baggage about the religion you were raised in into your atheism & it's not healthy.

I love pulling out my liter water bottle that I refill partway through the day in addition to coffee, kombucha, etc at this one. Just take a loooooooong sip through the straw with a blank stare.
"You're probably just dehydrated."

Cool. I'll let my chronic illness know that I'm cured.

don't ask what I'm up to unless you want to hear how detangling the pothos that my elderly neighbor has handed down to me after her mother handed it down to her because it's very long and I want to secure it to a trellis is going

It's disgusting that in addition to doing it they're trying to be cute about it. It's not cute. It doesn't deserve a cute zingy name.
I refuse to call an American concentration camp the same thing it calls itself at its attached gift shop

Maybe American journalism should search in the garbage for its self-respect and start taking the same position?

At this point I'm just worried about the health of the upstairs neighbor's knees. It's not good for you to stomp around all the time.

Small joys: I bought a popsicle mold & for my first batch made Peanut butter fudge froyo pops

1/2 cup plain yogurt*
2 hot cocoa packets
Big honkin scoop peanut butter
Milk of choice until you reach 2 cups total

Blend until smooth & portion into popsicle molds

I plan to add a banana next time

Yes every conservative social media site becomes a tropical rainforest of school shooters and Ponzi schemes but did you know that there is a left-wing social media site where people are rude to the nation’s center-right political pundits

I woke up at 5 today & there's nothing better than that hour or so when it's just me and the birds outside.
Praise the Lord, for the first time in years, I am the only one awake in my house. May you all know the peace I am feeling right now and have it in your lives.
