They’re trying to run the Kilmar Abrego Garcia playbook with a five year old boy in a bunny hat because nobody can find peace if they embarrass the Trump administration publicly. Normal people didn’t like it with Garcia and they really aren’t going to like it for Liam.

This was the craziest argument I heard constantly in 2024 btw, that somehow Biden withholding military assistance in line with very specific provisions of US law would be comparable to Trump holding Ukraine over the barrel because he was obsessed with Hunter Biden.
US law does not empower a president to withhold military assistance to a country lest it provide dirt on a president's political opponent. It *does* empower a president to withhold a country's military assistance if that country violates US law regarding the facilitation of humanitarian aid.

It ultimately doesn’t really matter who exactly pulled the trigger

Both Tripoli and Benghazi had reasons so see Saif gone.

His death is a statement from Libya’s competing governments, there is no third option. It will either be the Haftars, the Dbeibahs or both, whether Libyans like it or not.
Other than in Misrata, which likely suffered the worst during the 2011 revolution, Libya seems generally saddened by Saif al-Islam’s assasination

it really shows how badly Libya’s successive governments in east and west have led the country that one of Libya’s most hated men 10 years ago is mourned

Ghaddafi’s eldest son Saif al-Islam has reportedly been killed in Zintan

It’s been widely spread around on Libyan social media, but not fully confirmed

Despite his role suppressing the 2011 revolution, his popularity had grown over the years as he had been out of all of Libya’s corrupt governments

Can’t wait till the House releases some really bad majority report that’s 25-40 pages long saying Hillary was behind everything with Epstein, then the minority will release a 5-10 page rebuttal report for some reason which consists of just a series of bullet points.

on the whole, i think 'all the evil in the world is reducible to a few wealthy criminal Jews' is generally a thing we should be discouraging. i have nakedly self-interested reasons to believe this i will admit.

yeah, let's be real: it's not the Russians or the Chinese who a Canadian nuke is supposed to deter. and the fact that Eyre is seriously proposing it is a sign that things aren't likely to improve
I don't support Canada getting the bomb (whatever gains we get to national security by it- and IMO it would be less than we think- destroying whatever's left of non-proliferation is going to make everything else much worse) but it's pretty telling that this is where Eyre's head is at.
"We will never have true strategic independence, absent our own nuclear deterrent."

Canada should keep options open on acquiring nuclear weapons, former top soldier says

DHS said that the woman CBP shot in the chest in Portland was “involved” in a gang shooting.

Her ~involvement~ was that suspected gang members sexually assaulted and robbed her.
After Border Patrol shot two people in Portland, DHS claimed they were "vicious gang members" tied to a past shooting.

But records I obtained reveal a US prosecutor has since directly contradicted DHS, saying, "We're not suggesting he is a gang member." My dive into how DHS' claims have collapsed:
DHS’s account of two Venezuelans shot by border patrol falls apart in court: ‘A smear campaign’
Immigration officials said agent shot two ‘vicious gang members’ in Portland, but records obtained by the Guardian reveal US prosecutor contradicted claims
