They practiced on Gaza.

A reminder to stand up against injustice and atrocity everywhere. Because it’s morally required of us. But also because if they get away with it in one place, they try it in another and another and another.

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

The silver lining to the surrender by 8 Dems is that the House GOP must return to vote on it. Johnson must swear in Grijalva, and the discharge petition on the Epstein files must force a full floor vote. Stay tuned.

This is clown car stuff. “A.i.” as it exists is NOT on track to become “smarter than humans.” It’s just fancy autocorect, and it sucks for nearly everything except cheating and scamming.

I know professors personally who have had their lives destroyed by being doxxed by the Professor Watchlist organized by Turning Point USA, for saying the "wrong thing" in class one time. I will not celebrate violence but I also will not pretend this is "practicing politics the right way."

Which work? Calling for gay people to be stoned to death? Blaming airplane crashes on black pilots? Anti-vax bullshit? Election denialism? Pushing Great Replacement Theory?

Kirk’s murder is awful and ominous for this country. But no, we don’t need to honor him or “continue his work.”

Toplining, Lessons of the Hour, 2019, Isaac Julian This year three of the major art museums in San Francisco had toplining shows of contemporary artists of color. While this might seem unremarkable in the 21st century it has in fact been a long time coming, especially here in the Bay. Despite the diverse demographics of the city, SF museums have a bit of a history of not exhibiting contemporary BIPOC artists.

This year I’m nominating my favorite 21st Century example of the form, which would be the first Registry entry for segment directors Caveh Zahedi, Jay Rosenblatt, @vsoe.bsky.social, Paul Harrill, Ira Sachs & many others.
