If this country was truly “pro-life,” we would have Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, gun reform, universal child care, and a living wage.

The right-wing agenda isn’t about “life.”

It’s about control.

There is a lot of “we need a strong opposition for our democracy”.

1. We do not need a strong opposition if it is based on race hate, economic oppression and division”

2. This misunderstands the purpose and function of Democracy.

We need a contest of ideas, not parties.

Spoke to SBS re: the #LibSpill and the 3 key aspects of their "woman problem". I also noted:

"It's not just about who your leader is, it's about what does the party actually stand for ... how can they actually relate to a changing generation of Australians and especially Australian women?"

#AusPol
With their first female leader gone, can the Liberals shake their 'women problem'?
Senior Liberals say Sussan Ley’s removal was about polling, not gender. But experts warn it may reinforce doubts about the party’s appeal to women.

One Nation Senator Malcolm Roberts has reached a new low - even for him!
He has described women attempting suicide or self-harm as 'attention seeking' while saying men who do the same are suffering a legitimate medical condition.
He made the comments during Senate Estimates. #auspol

How dare they try to patronise powerful and principled women like this while they obsessively attack their every utterance. This paper is a disgrace.

Lightweight Libs have Labor laughing all the way to an election
Short of his party moving against him, Anthony Albanese is almost certain to win another term as Prime Minister.

Jane Hume ‘won’t go into new policies 48hrs after a leadership change’.

Why the change then?

This shows me the Libs do not care about policy just culture wars.

Jane Hume: ‘I’m not going policy-on-the-run 48 hours after the #LibSpill ‘.

Jane doesn’t do policy.
The #LNPDyingParty party will bring nothing to the next election (apart from energy/housing/inflation mumblings and a migration dog-whistle).

Same old Hume and Liberals. Capital Gains Tax rort unchanged. Lower taxes and reduced govt services. The market on its own will not fix housing shortages. Modern, modular public housing for working class Australians through a national Housing Commission the way to go.

More scrutiny about the 2019 “water buyback’ situation involving Angus Taylor and Barnaby Joyce? If either of these “men” are going to be involved in our politics going forward, we need to know.

For 50 years, the median wage of hourly workers stagnated or declined while the stock market and CEO pay skyrocketed.

Is it any wonder why so many feel abandoned by the system? People lose faith, and a demagogue fills the void.

This is why we must fix the system. AOC is right.
AOC: "Extreme level of wealth inequality leads to social instability and drives authoritarianism, right-wing populism, and really dangerous domestic internal politics. That is a direct outcome of the failure of democracies over decades to deliver."
