Type A and Type B personalities were invented by the tobacco industry to sell cigarettes, literally so much of "common knowledge" is corporate propaganda
Learning that 90% of government nutrition guidance I learned as a child was just the dairy lobby paying to brainwash me was honestly a breakthrough moment for me about trusting the state
i have NOT forgotten when Big Parmesan sponsored italian olympic athletes to promote their cheese a few years ago

it is impossible to miss the difference between the names you see in newspaper headlines and the names you don't see in newspaper headlines
Four months of shootings and deaths. This doesn't even count the neglect and death in their concentration camps. Fuck. This. Shit.

Every time I see something about Burnham my first thought is "why is Bo Burnham even involved in this?" But then I remember the State of Things in the World
Stopping Burnham doesn't "end the Psychodrama" . Labour are in turmoil because Starmer's authoritarian Centrist govt is so unpopular it threatens Labour's future. Burnham could have maybe improved that a bit. Instead, blocking him ensures the Psychodrama is now when Streeting etc challenge Starmer

Now I lost the little pack of buttons I want to sew on this sweater. I definitely have found them at least 3 times in the last year or so, moved them "so I will know where they are next time I'm in a mending mood" and its never obvious where that is when I'm looking next 🤷‍♂️

One thing that irks me: people keep calling the folks on the streets in Minneapolis protestors. They are not generally there to protest, they are there to observe and document. This is the product of organizing and mutual aid. It is telling that these acts of citizenship are seen as protest!

I talk to my therapist about religion so much in a way that I did not expect (protestant work ethic is such a brainworm), and I am really honestly ambivalent about whether it really has this much of a role in my feelings

Fascism is everywhere. Please respond to this - it took me 7 years and about £5k to get my settlement status and I had it relatively easy. Borders are family violence!
The UK government is proposing radical and punitive changes to settlement rules. This is settlement, not citizenship. The consultation is open until 12 February; please respond to it and oppose these evil proposals. Amnesty have a good guide: www.amnesty.org.uk/resources/gu...
Guidance for responding to 'A Fairer Pathway to Settlement' consultation

As JMAC for Families says, "They separate children at the border of Harlem, too"
i think it's time to note that ICE did not pioneer child taking; that it's not a new atrocity being visited upon the vulnerable; that "child welfare" agencies routinely use it to police families in crisis; that good progressive people enter the "foster-to-adopt pipeline" to benefit from it. 🥚

If I am surrounded by nonstop rain and my water infrastructure breaks leaving me with no water in my house, I will absolutely lose my shit.

Everyone is like, if I'm asleep when it happens, wake me up. No! Why is everyone ignoring how nice it is to get a good night's sleep *and* wake up to god news!

I am so jealous of anyone who has the opportunity to see this, the thread of this person's visit is amazing
On Saturday, I went to the Jack Shainman Gallery at 46 Lafayette St in TriBeCa to see “Faith Ringgold,” the gallery’s “inaugural exhibition dedicated to the trailblazing American artist, author, educator and activist.” jackshainman.com/exhibitions/... #BlackArt #BlackWomen #NYC

I bought an awl for a project like 6 years ago and need it again now, sadly this is teaching me that I have 45 containers of unsorted craft supplies just cached around the house. Past Panda, what did you do with this?

"During the darkest days of the AIDS crisis, we buried our friends in the morning, we protested in the afternoon, and we danced all night.

The dance kept us in the fight because it was the dance we were fighting for."
I'm gonna say this with all the kindness in my heart: you aren't going to survive if you don't let your life have room for other things.

This is not a short term fight where we can just go 24/7 and then it will be over. We've got YEARS ahead of us. Take a break. Hydrate. Go bake something. Breathe.
