If you love our public lands, this hits you.

Republicans shut down the government so Americans can’t see what they’re doing: firing over 2,000 park rangers and staff who protect our parks and wildlife so Big Oil can cash in when this is all over.

"The Trump administration is weaponizing the government shutdown to gut staffing, weaken environmental protections and normalize its ultimate goal of privatizing public lands. The alarm bells are loud, and our response must be louder."

Now, more than ever, we must fight to save our public lands.

Despite a slower start to the season, more fires ignited across our landscapes this summer than last year, and more than 250,000 acres burned. We have to stay vigilant, that means restoring the funding we need to prevent these larger wildfires.

I joined @merkley.senate.gov during his historic marathon floor speech to call out Trump's assault on Congress's power of the purse.

It's a gross abuse of power and it's corruption, plain and simple.

I'll keep sounding the alarm on Trump's unconstitutional power grab.

SPOILER ALERT: Trump and Republicans in Congress are the reason why your bills are so high.
Why your costs are so high, and how the government shutdown is making them worse
Trump's policies have made our lives too expensive. Now, he is forcing a government shutdown to raise costs even more.

Trump just gutted $1 BILLION in funding for the Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Hub, undermining our clean energy projects that would cut emissions from shipping, aviation, and heavy transport. This will kill good local jobs and stall our progress in fighting the climate crisis.

The Trump admin is pausing infrastructure projects to punish Congress. Pulling the plug on these projects will hurt jobs and raise your energy bills.

Stop inflicting pain on working people.
Fund the government.
Fix the mounting health care crisis.
Put working people first.
Washington is in chaos.

This shutdown is nothing more than a lockout. #LIUNA members show up every day ready to build America’s infrastructure and energy future. Congress and the White House need to do their job so LIUNA members can do ours!

This isn’t an accident – it’s about Trump wanting to ignore the law. On Oct. 18 take action. #NoKings
