I’ve been a registered Democrat for almost 50 years but my values are not “Democrat”

My values are progressive
My values are humanist
This candidate doesn’t send me emails or texts (because her campaign honors my unsubscribe requests!!!) but I send her my support over and over and over.

👏🏻 We.
👏🏻 Need.
👏🏻 Lots.
👏🏻 More.
👏🏻 Of.
👏🏻 This.
ICE does not need more training. They’re doing exactly what they’re trained to do.

Democrats cannot vote for a single cent to ICE.

The testing ground for Bovino’s Operation At Large was Los Angeles. A California judge initially prohibited ICE/CBP’s most flagrant constitutional violations. SCOTUS overruled her 6–3, handing Bovino a blank check to inflict unspeakable brutality on Chicago and Minneapolis. The 6 bear so much blame.
BREAKING Greg Bovino has been removed as Border Patrol "commander at large" and will return to El Centro Calif, where he is expected to retire soon. A stunning turnaround after Pretti killing. Bovino's traveling blue city crackdown is over www.theatlantic.com/politics/202...

Abolish ICE is not enough.

Stern words for Greg Bovino or Kristi Noem is not enough.

We need prosecutions and trials.

Anything short of this position fails to address the gravity of this moment.
January 26, 2026 at 6:10 PM
Withdrawing Bovino, even withdrawing CBP and ICE, is not justice. Justice is prosecuting murderers and the people who ordered their crimes.

This is The Atlantic suggesting that Trump is changing course because he's decent. He is *not* decent. He's only reacting because he didn't like how killing innocent people on video was affecting his already low poll numbers.

If those poll numbers had gone up, the streets would be FULL of blood.

The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

The regime has been pushing aggressively and then taking baby steps back (a la “TACO”) to seem like they’re backing down before asserting pressure elsewhere. (They also buy the dip every time.)

When they pull back the border gestapo from MN, resistance mustn’t let up

Amazon Web Services hosts massive surveillance systems for both ICE and DHS.

Citizens Bank provides nearly $1 trillion in credit & bonds to private prison companies.

AT&T has a $147 million contract to provide communications services to DHS.

Know who is profiting from ICE’s cruelty.

"This isn’t about immigration enforcement. This is straight-out fascism. ... They are using the mechanism of armed officers with masks who are beating up and killing citizens to create disruption, so they can use more force to eliminate the possibility they could be removed from office."

Precious few States have moved to limit qualified immunity, which literally puts law enforcement above the law. Now that we see what that means, maybe this can be part of the next reformation… unless police unions continue to fight tooth-and-nail to retain it

Today I learned former Seattle police chief Gil Kerlikowske (2001-2009) was the head of CBP under Obama. While at SPD he helped shield officers from consequences for excessive force & had his duty weapon stolen from his car (lol) BUT also 2003 was the first time in 15 years SPD didn't kill anyone

@bsky.app - Why is it still so difficult to spin up independent AT Proto instances? It’s not actual decentralization if normal users without advanced technical knowledge can’t do it easily.

#Enshittification relies on centralization. If you mean what you say, please prioritize real openness.

This requires that R voter put massive pressure on their elected representatives. The People are only sovereign when we use our power.
Yes, the GOP controls Congress. That's why it's key to show Congress COULD stop the madness. And it's not just the DHS bill. Congress could repeal the prior multi-year $75b for DHS; set up a special investigative committee (cf. Watergate); amend the Insurrection Act; etc.
