Hi, I’m the human version of the energizer bunny!

You may remember me from such moments as loudly singing while riding my bike, compulsively picking up trash, or dressing as the MAX every year on Halloween. AK & PNW based.

I’m very curious how the city decides where BikeTown stations should go, and how often they update their map of stations as bike infrastructure changes around the city. Do they move stations based on user behavior? Demand and supply? Do they notify users when a nee station is added or removed?

A little less than one month ago, I decided to make it my goal to go to all of the BikeTown stations in Portland. I had only gone to 57 stations (22%) at that point. Now I’ve gone to 121 (47%) stations, and am consistently in the city’s Top 10 leaderboard for the bike angels program 😅

‼️‼️

"Over the year, bike and scooter share carried about 60% as many trips as the state’s $2.15 billion SR-99 highway tunnel under downtown Seattle. During summer months, that number may have been more like 80%."

Was poking around on my health app, and, if I’m doing my math right, it looks like today I surpassed 10 million steps total for the year so far! :o

Despite the rain, myself and one other person went out and had a wonderful time! We picked up three bags of trash, enjoyed some small joys we found in the neighborhood, and left a message with the rocks we painted!

It’s funny, I’ve walked and biked along about 85% of where Route 71 goes, and I’ve been there countless times since I use those routes often, but today was actually my first time riding Route 71

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!
