Finished In The Dream House by Carmen Maria Machado. It’s an interesting and unique memoir in that it is presented as a series of interrelated essays with the common theme of abusive relationships. I listened to the audio book, which was narrated by the author, so that was a treat. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 📚💙

Mimi update - it appears she has chosen her human, and it’s me. Kind of a bummer since I got her for my hubby, but this is life with chihuahuas. She is still skittish about loud noises, but she is settling down and settling in. She loves pets and people foods.

ICE secretly kidnap autistic boy during bathroom break—never notify family.

Mother reported him missing a week ago—turns out ICE had him detained the whole time.

He was helping sell fruit and asked to go to the restroom—by the time she was done helping a customer he was gone.

I don’t get it. I mean, I could be making $150,000 a year to work their service desk, and I’m a firm no on that. And we’re drowning from layoffs and company setbacks and my rent being increased 35%, and I’m still a Fuck That Shit.

Yep, I remember having that cringy belief after Trump got elected the first time. The learning curve has since been steep, so I guess I have to thank that monster for decolonizing my mind.
