Well, Xiaomi is very much like Samsung.

Though Xiaomi focuses more on their home market plus SE Asia.

Xiaomi like Samsung are in most electronic categories (phone, TV, aircon, fridges etc etc).

Xiaomi now have 2 EVs, so no reason not to for Samsung.

Had something similar when GH Copilot was analysing a PR a few months ago where it tagged people whose usernames matched certain variables in a stored procedure 😂

That's one of my biggest gripes about the trending "feature".

I remember back in the Twitter days there were regional trending topics and you could switch to other regions if you wished.

To boost the slow uptake of EVs in Australia, authorities have focused on expanding the charger network and ensuring chargers are online. But this won’t be enough.

They also used to have Daewoo, but that got sold to GM and turned into GM Korea after Daewoo went bankrupt.

And there was also a Samsung Motors company, which is now Renault Korea

Justice for Mimikyu!

Also, it's great that we've finally got an in person Pogo event in Australia.

Here's something similar for Australia. First screenshot is for the whole of Australia. Second is for my home state (Victoria) and third is South Australia.

It's a great site that is very interactive, allowing you to drill down and filter it all.

Energy generation chart from the Open Electricity site for the past 3 days (Oct 11 - 14).

It shows the mix of energy sources used for generation across the country.

Top chart shows energy generation in MW.

Second chart shows the emissions volume.

Third chart shows the emission intensity. Charts for my state of Victoria. Charts for the state of South Australia, who mostly run on renewables with a bit of gas included (which is decreasing).

Also, on a slightly related topic.

Here's a video from an American that moved to the UK about angry comments some Americans made on one of his recent videos on his views on the US now after living in Europe for 13 years.

People can be very myopic when it suits them, which includes those who report on it. Just because a supposedly "authoritive" source says something as fact, doesn't mean those who report on it should not perform further research on it.

Unfortunately it's not an uncommon issue around the world on various topics. Local instances I've seen of this include articles claiming something as being an "Australian first", even though something similar happened in another state but they called it something else🤦

Franklin St also opened up now, so you can get right up to the new station buildings/artwork.

Photos from Saturday.
Fenced up Metro Tunnel sites at the end of A'Beckett St.

That's what China initially did as well with LFP batteries.

It was cheaper to produce, so they put it into all the entry level vehicles.

this is a nice rendering by @nickevershed.bsky.social but, er, it definitely shows coal power output remaining persistently high even as renewable energy grows, which feels like a problem

a hand-drawn chart showing renewable energy griwing but coal output remaining stagnat for the past three entire years because demand itself has been growing oddly fast

Little EV ⚡️ street sweeper 🧹 doing it's thing in Melbourne's CBD (or as North Americans call it, downtown area).
Picture of City of Melbourne's red and grey electric street sweeper.

Writing on the door says "They whisked me away" and "Spilt coffee on Spencer Street", next to an image of coffee spilling from a takeaway cup.

The slogan and image probably plays on the stereotype that Melbourne has the best coffee in Australia (can't confirm though since I don't drink coffee).

Oh no, did the @montaguestbridge.bsky.social move to Southern Cross Station? 🤣
