Autumnal ovals beside the Water of Leith.
A series of concentric ovals in the ground made of grey setts. Autumn leaves are helping to define the oval shapes.

A sunny morning down on the Rocheid path for staff from the local office of Blackrock

On the menu today was helping to keep the paths leaf free and cutting back non native laurel from the banks.

A great way to finish off the week.

Our Monday walk this week was along the Water of Leith to Saughton Park. Along the walk we spotted herons fishing on the water, unperturbed by 10 people watching it. The sun came out at the gardens, and we enjoyed the fragrances of herbs and the last of the summer bloomers.

A busy morning at Dean Village as we helped Morton Fraser MacRoberts host 42 law colleagues, as part of the Interlaw AGM based on the theme of Optimism and Opportunity

What better way to start than to show off the river that's been transformed by volunteers hard work

Our wonderful volunteers were fully in the swing of autumn leaf raking on the walkway at Baberton Loan this morning. We also did some fence repairs and a productive litter pick in the area, to keep it looking beautiful! @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social

Another Monday morning spent with @wolct.bsky.social wading in the Water of Leith upstream of Currie Kirk seeking out Japanese Knotweed. One plant spotted, some Balsam removed as well as 2 bags of litter.

A very productive session in Currie today, we had an extremely efficient team cutting back vegetation and raking, sweeping and clearing drains. We also had a small team wading to map Japanese Knotweed, and of course there were several dedicated litter pickers scouting around💪🤘

A nice session completed on friday before the rain started by a team from the canonmills office of BlackRock

As locals they'll enjoy the benefits of a looked after walkway first hand the next time they leave the office

Thanks for the help.

A lovely morning with the Edinburgh office of Historic Enviornent Scotland down at Stockbridge.

Teams were out sweeping the river for rubbish, tending the walkway and creating memories by the river.

Thanks for the help folks.

Great turnout for the monthly Leith Clean-up, with our volunteers joined by a team from Aegon. We amassed quite the haul and found some interesting objects; a bike covered in barnacles and a Paisley serving bowl! We also continued weeding out the setts at the mural. Thanks folks!

Took a circular walk along a wee stretch of the #WaterofLeith today between Bonaly & Currie - along the line of the old railway and now part of Cycle Route 75. It’ll look very bonnie when the autumnal colours come out in full.

Day 2 for Johnny with Leeds Coppice Cooperative learning how to lay hedges.

From pletching to binding they covered it all, so he'll be able to give this green skill a go on the walkway in the future

The 1st of 2 days for Johnny, our ranger learning hedge laying with Leeds Coppice Cooperative

After the cutting back to expose the stem he's been learning to pletch limbs flat and then they'll be binding the hedge tomorrow so its fully animal proof.
